Ki Mobility Catalyst 4C
The Catalyst 4C is a folding lightweight aluminum wheelchair. You choose every part, and we check it against Ki Mobility's rules.
The configurable Catalyst 4, built to your measurements
The Catalyst 4C is Ki Mobility's configurable K0004 folding wheelchair. It takes the Catalyst 4 frame and adds every seat width from 14" to 22", seat depths from 14" to 20", a removable seat pan, seating system cross braces, front mount hangers and wheels up to 26". Ki Mobility gives a 16 lb. transport weight at 16" x 16".
Choose the frame, seat size, rear wheels, casters and seat heights, footrest, back, wheel locks, armrests, accessories and color. Each choice is checked against the Catalyst 4C order form as you build.
What stands out
Catalyst frame design
The Catalyst 4C uses the frame geometry of Ki Mobility's Catalyst family, in aluminum, with 1" top tubes and 1 1/8" bottom tubes.
Every seat size
Seat widths come in every inch from 14" to 22" and seat depths in every inch from 14" to 20", so the chair can match the user's hips and thighs closely.
Seat pan and seating system braces
A removable aluminum seat pan gives a firm base under a cushion, and the seating system cross braces make it easy to mount a solid seat system.
Offset axle bracket
The axle bracket is mounted less than 1/2" forward of the usual axle position. A reverse mount bracket sets the wheels further back for an amputee user.
Swing away and front mount hangers
Ki Mobility's swing away hangers have a tapered engagement that keeps the footrests snug. Front mount hangers bring the seat to footrest length down to 4" for a shorter user.
Super low frame
The super low swing away frame gives front seat heights from 13 1/2", for a user who propels with the feet or needs a low transfer.
The Hieline Insight
The Catalyst 4C suits a manual wheelchair user who needs a folding chair fitted closely to their measurements, up to 250 lbs., or 350 lbs. with the heavy duty frame. It is the Catalyst 4 with more choice: every seat width from 14" to 22", seat depths from 14" to 20", a seat pan for a firm cushion base, front mount hangers for short legs and wheels up to 26". It also suits a user who propels with the feet, because the super low frame brings the front seat height down to 13 1/2" with 4" casters. Take your hip width, seat depth, lower leg length and back height before you start, since Ki Mobility fixes every size when it builds the chair. Choose your rear wheels and casters before the seat heights, because they set the heights the page offers. Ki Mobility builds the chair to order, so it cannot be returned once it is made.

Common questions
Measure seated on a firm surface. Hip width sets the seat width, the back of the hip to the back of the knee sets the seat depth, the back of the knee to the floor in shoes sets the seat to footrest length, and the seat to the shoulder blades sets the back height. The measuring guide on the Resources tab shows each one.
250 lbs. With the heavy duty frame it carries 350 lbs. The heavy duty frame needs 6" or larger casters and is not sold with low poly tires, Superlight wheels or handrims, the 3/4" longer fork stem, Frog Legs forks or the automatic braking system.
Ki Mobility gives a transport weight of 16 lbs. at 16" x 16", with 5" x 1" poly casters and height adjustable T-arm receivers, without the footrest and rear wheels, and a standard weight of 26 lbs. Ki Mobility publishes these figures for the Catalyst 4 and 4C together.
They share the frame. The Catalyst 4C adds every seat width from 14" to 22" and seat depths from 14" to 20", the removable seat pan, seating system cross braces, front mount hangers, more rear wheels up to 26", Frog Legs forks and hydrographics. Each has its own order form, and this page builds the Catalyst 4C from its own form.
The front seat height depends on the caster size, and the rear seat height on the rear wheel size and the tire profile. Ki Mobility also limits how much lower the rear can sit than the front for each seat depth. The page offers only the heights on Ki Mobility's charts for the parts you chose.
The Catalyst 4C order form prints a minimum of 5" casters with the heavy duty frame. Ki Mobility's own online configurator asks for 6". We follow the stricter of the two so your order is not sent back.
No. The chair comes with a seat sling, or the seat pan if you choose it. A cushion is sold separately.
Ki Mobility's user manual for the Catalyst 4 series warrants the frame, cross braces, hangers and quick release axles against defects for the life of the original purchaser, with an expected frame life of five years. All other parts are covered for one year from the first purchase. Upholstery, tires, tubes, armrest pads, armrests and push handle grips are wear items and are not covered.
No. The Catalyst 4C is built to order to one user's sizes, so it cannot be returned. Ki Mobility's warranty covers defects.

No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the Catalyst 4C is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
Yes. Your progress saves automatically in your browser as you go, so you can step away and pick up where you left off on the same device.
Every combination is checked against Ki Mobility's own compatibility rules as you build. An option that does not fit your other choices is greyed out with the reason printed on it, and the build cannot be added to the cart while a conflict is open.
