The ev¹ is for the driver who wants a chair that watches the space around it. Its evSense sensors cover all four sides, and in Co-Pilot mode the chair steers around an obstacle or slows and stops when there is no room, while in manual mode the joystick vibrates to warn you. Pathfinder drives to a spot you tap on the screen, and Waypoint drives to places you have saved, up to about 300 meters away today. Under the seat it is a capable outdoor chair, with four-wheel independent suspension, active front steering and two rear motors of up to 1000W peak each, rated for 2" curbs, 4.7" gaps and slopes up to 13° on gravel, grass, bark and cobblestones. Strutt's lab range is up to 20 miles with evSense off and 16.2 miles with it on, and the sensors draw power while the chair sits idle, so Range Mode and Sleep Mode matter on long days. The seat adjusts in width, height and backrest angle, and the screen and joystick move to either armrest. The chair weighs 140.7 lbs. without its battery and comes apart into five modules, the heaviest 43.7 lbs., so it goes into a compact SUV in pieces. It has no tilt or recline, flying needs the separate 288Wh Flight-safe Battery, and Strutt says the ev¹ is not designed for blind or low vision users, so those buyers should look at another chair.

Strutt's lab measured up to 20 miles with Range Mode on and evSense off, and 16.2 miles with evSense on, at 4 mph with a 200.6 lbs. rider. A third-party lab measured 19.1 miles with a 352.7 lbs. load at 4 mph. The sensors draw about 7% of the battery an hour while the chair sits idle, or about 3% in Range Mode.
Yes, with the 288Wh Flight-safe Battery. The 640Wh Long-range Battery the chair ships with is not permitted on aircraft. The Flight-safe Battery is sold here as an add-on, or with the Freewheel Kit as the Air Travel Kit, both on pre-order from Strutt. Airline acceptance varies, so check with your carrier before you fly.

Allow about two to three days for the order to be processed and shipped, then about five more in transit depending on where you live. No carrier in this trade quotes an exact date, so treat both figures as estimates rather than promises. It arrives boxed at the curb, and getting it inside is yours to arrange.
This one comes in a single box and the setup is not hard. The box goes through a normal doorway and most people manage it on their own. The free option is a fair choice here.
