A folding chair in titanium, built to your measurements

The Catalyst 5Ti is Ki Mobility's folding wheelchair with a Ti3Al/2.5V titanium frame. Ki Mobility gives a 10.8 lb. transport weight at 16" x 16". The universal axle plate sets the seat heights in 1/2" steps and moves the center of gravity over a 3" range.

Choose the frame, seat size, rear wheels, casters and seat heights, footrest, back, wheel locks, armrests, accessories and color. Each choice is checked against the Catalyst 5Ti order form as you build.

What stands out

Titanium frame

Ki Mobility builds the frame from Ti3Al/2.5V titanium alloy and says it has twice the strength to weight ratio of 6061 aluminum and resists scratches and corrosion.

Titanium cross braces

An option that takes about 1/2 lb. more off the frame, for the 14" to 20" seat widths.

Universal axle plate

Sets the rear seat height in 1/2" steps and moves the center of gravity over a 3" range.

Heavy duty frame

The heavy duty frame raises the user weight capacity from 300 lbs. to 350 lbs.

One arm drive

One arm drive puts both handrims on one side, with its own spoke wheels on quick release axles.

Color accents

The titanium frame is left bare. Color comes from the accent package on the forks and axle plates and from colored mag wheels.

The Hieline Insight

The Catalyst 5Ti suits a full time manual wheelchair user who lifts a folding chair into a car often and wants titanium, up to 300 lbs., or 350 lbs. with the heavy duty frame. Choose it over the aluminum Catalyst 5 if the lighter frame and a titanium ride are worth the higher price, and choose the Catalyst 5 if you need the depth adjustable or reclining back or a painted frame. Take your hip width, seat depth, lower leg length and back height before you start, since Ki Mobility fixes every size when it builds the chair. Choose your rear wheels and casters before the seat heights, because they set the heights the page offers. Ki Mobility builds the chair to order, so it cannot be returned once it is made.
