Motion Composites Veloce Folding Wheelchair
A carbon fiber folding wheelchair with a fixed front end, from 11.9 lbs. Rated to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. with the HD package. Seats 14" to 22".
A folding chair that rides like a rigid one, in carbon fiber
The Veloce is Motion Composites' carbon fiber folding wheelchair. Its Mantis frame pairs a box frame at the back with a cantilever fixed front end, and the auto-folding footrest folds with the chair, so the footplate never has to come off. The transport weight is 11.9 lbs.
Choose the seat size and heights, wheels, casters, footrest, back, armrests, guards and colors, each checked against the Veloce order form as you build.
What stands out

The Hieline Insight
The Veloce suits a full time manual wheelchair user who wants a carbon fiber folding chair that rides like a rigid one, up to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. with the heavy duty package. Choose it over the Helio C2 if you want the fixed front end and the auto-folding footrest, which folds with the chair so nothing comes off for the car. Take hip width, seat depth, lower leg length and back height before you start, since every size is fixed when Motion Composites builds the chair. Choose your rear wheel size and casters first, because they set the seat heights the page offers. Motion Composites builds the chair to order, so it cannot be returned once it is made.
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- a full time manual wheelchair user who needs a folding chair
- a user who folds the chair into a car often and wants the footrest to fold with it

- a seat width from 14" to 22"
Look elsewhere if you
- a user over 350 lbs.
- a user who needs swing away footrests or elevating legrests
- a user who needs a seat narrower than 14"
- a user who needs a custom size or a custom paint color

Common questions
Both are carbon fiber folding chairs on the same base. The Veloce has a fixed front end instead of swing away footrests, and offers the auto-folding footplate, which folds with the frame. It comes only in carbon fiber.
Measure seated on a firm surface: hip width for the seat width, the back of the hip to the back of the knee for the seat depth, the back of the knee to the floor in shoes for the seat to footrest length, and the seat to the shoulder blade for the back height. The order form on the Resources tab shows each setting.
265 lbs. With the heavy duty package it carries 350 lbs. Motion Composites requires the package for users of 300 to 350 lbs. It comes with seat widths of 18" to 22" and the one piece flip-up footplates, and is not sold with the WC-19 tie-downs. The Veloce brochure lists the heavy duty widths as 18" to 20"; the June 2026 order form adds 21" and 22".
Motion Composites gives a transport weight of 11.9 lbs. at 16" x 16", without the rear wheels, wheel locks, armrests, cushion and anti-tippers, and with the folding footrest. The brochure's headline and the user manual round it to 12 lbs. With wheels and wheel locks it starts at 19.4 lbs. in the brochure and 19.5 lbs. in the manual.
The front seat height depends on the caster size and fork, and the rear seat height on the rear wheel size. The page offers only the heights on Motion Composites' charts for the parts you chose. The seat to footrest length must be at least 1 3/4" shorter than the front seat height.
A one piece adjustable angle footplate that folds when the frame folds, so it stays on the chair. It is not sold with a straight footrest or the heavy duty package, which take the one piece flip-up footplates.
The June 2026 order form lists the carbon versions of the angle and height adjustable back canes for fall 2026. You can order them here, and the build date is set when Motion Composites accepts the order. The aluminum angle adjustable canes are available now.
85 to 110 degrees on the order form, with 100 to 110 degrees on the angle adjustable canes and 85 degrees not with the 8 degree bend canes. The brochure gives 80 to 110 degrees.
They come in the 18 colors plus black. Motion Composites notes the finish on the handrims may differ slightly from the frame, and colors on screen are for reference only. The color photographs show matching Air Grip handrims, which are an option you choose.
No. This page offers every size and color on the order form. Custom paint and Motion Composites' EVO Custom requests need a written spec, so they are not offered here.
Motion Composites warrants the carbon fiber frame, cross brace, back canes, side guards and footplates for life to the first user. Components are covered for one year. Tires, tubes, seat slings, standard back upholstery, armrests and push handle grips are covered for 30 days.
No. The Veloce is built to order to one user's sizes, so it cannot be returned. Motion Composites' warranty covers defects.
No. You can order a Veloce from Hieline without a prescription.
No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the Veloce is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
Yes. Your progress saves automatically in your browser as you go, so you can step away and pick up where you left off on the same device.
Every combination is checked against Motion Composites' own compatibility rules as you build. An option that does not fit your other choices is greyed out with the reason printed on it, and the build cannot be added to the cart while a conflict is open.
