The Quickie 2 is Sunrise Medical's folding ultralight wheelchair, built to order from Sunrise's own order form.
You choose the frame, the sizes, both seat heights, the wheels, the casters and the finish, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules as you build.
What stands out
Set to the user
Frame width, seat depth, both seat heights, back height and the center of gravity are all chosen to the user's own measurements.
Folds for the car
The cross-brace frame folds side to side, so the chair fits a car trunk or a closet.
Three rear frames
Straight, rounded or depth adjustable. The depth adjustable back moves the backrest 3" rearward as needs change.
Two weight capacities
300 lbs. as standard, and 350 lbs. with the Heavy Duty package on 18" to 22" widths.
Wheels and casters to suit the ride
Mag, Lite Spoke, ultra lightweight and Spinergy rear wheels from 20" to 26", ten tires, and 22 caster wheels from 3" to 8".
A tight fit that stays tight
Sunrise's Q-Fit parts in the armrests, side guards, hanger latches, footrest clamps and seat rail saddles hold their fit to cut the rattle of a folding frame.
The Hieline Insight
The Quickie 2 suits a daily user who wants a folding chair set to their own measurements and who will use the choices it offers. Most of its value is in the sizing: frame width, seat depth and both seat heights are chosen to the half inch, and a chair with the wrong numbers is harder to push and harder to sit in all day. It folds well for a car, which is the reason to pick a folding frame at all. If the chair will rarely leave the house and the user wants the lightest possible push, compare a rigid frame before you commit. Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Seat width is the widest point across the hips plus about 1". Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee, less about 2". Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.
It raises the weight capacity from 300 lbs. to 350 lbs. and adds reinforced back upholstery and a stabilizer bar. It is available on 18" to 22" widths with a 16" or deeper frame.
Front seat height is the height of the front edge of the seat from the floor and sets how the feet reach the footplate. Rear seat height sets the seat angle. The rear heights you can choose depend on the rear wheel and tire, so the build asks for those first.
Yes. The Xtender power assist wheels are an option in the Rear wheels section. The Empulse power assist devices are sold as their own products on hieline.com.
They do not work with a choice you have already made. The reason is printed on the option, and every rule comes from Sunrise's order form.
It adds Sunrise's WC19 transit system with tested tie-down points, so the chair can be secured as a seat in a vehicle. Sunrise's WC19 transit securement supplement is on the Resources tab.
Not on this page. Sunrise lists them under its Built for Me program, and no footplate on Sunrise's order form fits them, so we do not list them.
