Tilt, recline and a seat low enough to foot propel
The Quickie ACCESS is Sunrise Medical's knee-pivot tilt in space wheelchair, rated to 300 lbs. It tilts from -5 to 20 or 0 to 25 degrees, reclines up to 50 degrees with the reclining back, and keeps a front seat as low as 12" for foot propulsion and table access.
You choose the size, tilt range, casters and seat height, wheels, hangers, back, arms, positioning and color, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules, its seat height chart, its tire and handrim charts and its lower leg length chart as you build.
What stands out
Low seat to floor height
The knee-pivot tilt keeps knee rise low, so the front seat can sit as low as 12" for foot propulsion and access under tables, even with a thick cushion.
Tilt and recline
Up to 25 degrees of tilt, and up to 50 degrees of recline with the reclining back, for pressure relief and posture.
Anterior tilt
The -5 to 20 degree range tilts the seat forward for standing, transfers and reach.
Portable
Fold the back down and take the wheels off, and the ACCESS lifts into a car at 32 lbs.
Rigid and durable
An aerospace-grade aluminum rigid base and a solid seat pan give a stiff, stable ride with few moving parts.
Transit option
Transit tie-down brackets let the user ride in a vehicle seated in the chair.
The Hieline Insight
The Quickie ACCESS suits a user who needs tilt for pressure relief or posture but still wants to move the chair with the hands or feet, since it keeps the seat low where most tilt chairs raise it. Pick the tilt range first: -5 to 20 degrees if forward tilt for standing and transfers matters, 0 to 25 degrees for the most rearward tilt. The caster then decides which front seat heights are left on Sunrise's chart, and the front seat has to sit at least 2" above the lower leg length. Choose the back system carefully, because the fixed, height adjustable and reclining backs each take their own canes, handles, upholstery and accessories. Take the user's measurements with Sunrise's measuring guide on the Resources tab before you build.

Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Hip width is the widest point across the hips. Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee. Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.
-5 to 20 degrees includes a forward tilt that helps with standing and transfers. 0 to 25 degrees tilts further back for pressure relief. Sunrise sets the gas spring from the user's weight, which you choose in the build.
Yes, with the reclining backrest, 0 to 50 degrees. It is not made with a 22" depth or the flip back armrest.
They do not work with a choice you have already made. The reason is printed on the option, and every rule comes from Sunrise's order form and its charts.
Yes, with the transit option.
No. The ACCESS is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. The Sunrise warranty covers defects.
