Quickie adjustability with heavy duty strength
The Quickie M6 is Sunrise Medical's bariatric folding wheelchair, a high strength steel frame rated to 650 lbs. in widths from 22" to 30". It is modeled on the Quickie 2 and built to order.
You choose the width, frame length and depth, casters and seat height, wheels, hangers, footplate, back height, arms and color, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules, its seat height chart and its lower leg length chart as you build.

High strength frame
A modular steel frame modeled on the Quickie 2, rated to 650 lbs., with heavy duty parts that can be swapped as needs change.
Wide sizes
Seat widths from 22" to 30" and depths from 18" to 22" on the long frame.
Low seat option
A 17" seat with the low axle plate and shorter fork brings the user closer to the floor for foot propulsion.
Locking crossbrace
A double locking crossbrace and stabilizer bar cut frame flex, so more of each push reaches the wheels.
Heavy duty legrests
60 degree swing away hangers, 70 or 80 degree heavy duty lift off hangers, or reinforced elevating legrests.
Adjustable axle plate
The adjustable axle plate places the rear wheels for easier reach.

The Quickie M6 suits a larger user, up to 650 lbs., who wants a folding chair with Quickie's adjustability instead of a fixed hospital style frame. Start with the width and depth, remembering that 20" and deeper need the long frame. The caster then sets the seat height: 5" casters give 17" or 18.5", and 8" casters give 20". Choose the hanger and footplate together, since the lift off hangers take the angle adjustable footplate and the elevating legrests the aluminum one, and pick the lower leg length last from what Sunrise's chart allows. Take the user's measurements with Sunrise's measuring guide on the Resources tab before you build.

Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Hip width is the widest point across the hips. Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee. Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.

On Sunrise's chart the seat is level front to rear. 5" casters give 17" or 18.5", and 8" casters give 20". The 17" seat adds the low axle plate and a shorter fork.
