Built to turn every push into motion
The Quickie Nitrum is a rigid chair made from ovalized 7020 aluminum, 18.3 lbs. with the Open frame. Choose the Open frame, the stiffer Hybrid dual tube frame, or the welded Active Rigid back.
You choose the frame, back type, sizes, wheels, seat heights, casters, footrest, back, arms and colors, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules, its tire and handrim charts and its front to rear seat height limits as you build.
What stands out
Ovalized aluminum frame
Shapeloc 7020 oval aluminum tubing takes weight out of the frame without giving up stiffness, so more of each push moves the chair.
Open, Hybrid or Active Rigid
The Open frame is the lightest. The Hybrid's dual tube adds stiffness and carries 300 lbs. Active Rigid welds the back to the frame for the most direct ride.
Adjustable where it counts
Casters, back and center of gravity adjust, and the hollow forged caster links set the caster position.
Fold down back
The back folds with one hand using the push bar, or the optional twist-lock release.
Freestyle back
The Freestyle folding back takes a JAY J3 LT shell in aluminum or carbon, painted to match the frame.
Built to be seen
Twin LED lights on the caster arms, 25 paint colors, frame graphics, painted handrims and anodized parts.
The Hieline Insight
The Quickie Nitrum suits an active user who pushes all day and wants a light rigid chair. The first choice is the frame. Take the Open frame for the least weight, the Hybrid for a stiffer chair or a user up to 300 lbs., and Active Rigid if the back will be set once and never moved. Then pick the rear wheel and tire together, since Sunrise's charts decide which tires and handrims each wheel takes, and set the rear seat height before the front, because the front has to sit within Sunrise's drop for the seat depth. Take the user's measurements with Sunrise's measuring guide on the Resources tab before you build.

Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Hip width is the widest point across the hips. Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee. Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.
The Open frame is a single tube frame, 18.3 lbs. and rated to 275 lbs. The Hybrid adds a second tube for a stiffer frame, 20.3 lbs. and rated to 300 lbs. The Hybrid is not offered with the 4-link rear suspension.
The back is welded to the frame instead of bolted on, for a stiffer, lighter chair. It takes its own axle plate and a fixed back set at one angle, and is not offered with transit, the depth adjustable back or the Xtender.
They do not work with a choice you have already made. The reason is printed on the option, and every rule comes from Sunrise's order form and its charts.
Yes, with the optional transit system, which meets WC-19. It is not offered with Active Rigid or the Xtender.
No. The Nitrum is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. The Sunrise warranty covers defects.
No. You can order a Quickie Nitrum from Hieline without a prescription.
No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the Quickie Nitrum is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
