A folding chair that rides like a rigid one
The Quickie QS5 X is Sunrise Medical's folding ultralight, from 21.8 lbs., rated to 300 lbs. Choose the swing away frame for transfers and elevating legrests, or a fixed front at 75 or 85 degrees for a stiffer, lighter front end.
You choose the frame, sizes, wheels, seat heights, casters, hangers or footrest, back, arms and colors, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules and the charts printed on its order form as you build: tires and handrims by wheel, front seat height by caster and fork, lower leg length by hanger and tube, and push handles by back type and height.

Swing away or fixed front
The swing away frame takes 60, 70 or 80 degree hangers, or elevating and articulating legrests. The fixed front frame at 75 or 85 degrees is lighter and stiffer.
Folds small
The crossbrace folds the chair side to side for the car, and the optional Fold-N-Lock holds it folded.

Seat heights from Sunrise's charts

The Quickie QS5 X suits a user up to 300 lbs. who needs a chair that folds for the car but wants the feel of an ultralight. The first choice is the front end. Take the swing away frame if the user transfers standing, needs elevating legrests or wants the footrests out of the way, and a fixed front if the lightest, stiffest chair matters most. Then set the rear seat height and the caster before the front seat height, because Sunrise's chart decides which front heights each caster and fork reach, and pick the hanger and tube last, since the lower leg chart may call for a higher front seat. Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Hip width is the widest point across the hips. Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee. Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.
The swing away frame takes hangers that swing aside or come off, including elevating and articulating legrests. The fixed front has the footrest built into the frame at 75 or 85 degrees, which is lighter and stiffer but does not swing away.
Sunrise's charts print the front seat heights each caster size and fork reach. The build only opens those heights, and the front must sit level with the rear or higher, within Sunrise's limit for the seat depth.
They do not work with a choice you have already made. The reason is printed on the option, and every rule comes from Sunrise's order form and its charts.
