The Quickie SR45 is Sunrise Medical's straightforward tilt in space wheelchair. Its seat rotates around the rider's center of gravity through 45 degrees on a durable frame rated to 265 lbs.
You choose the tilt control, sizes, wheels, casters, seat height, legrests, back, arms and color, and every choice is checked against Sunrise's rules, its seat height chart and its lower leg charts as you build.
What stands out
Rotation around the rider
Like the IRIS, the SR45 rotates the seat around the rider's center of gravity, so the tilt takes little effort and the wheelbase stays short.
45 degrees of tilt
The seat tilts from 0 to 45 degrees, released by a dual trigger on the back or a foot release on the frame.
Power tilt
An optional battery powered tilt with an attendant control and a toggle switch on the armrest, so the rider can shift position alone.
Built for heavy use
The frame was durability tested at its full 265 lb. weight capacity.
Seat heights from Sunrise's charts
Every rear wheel, tire, caster and front seat height is checked against Sunrise's seat height chart, and every hanger against its lower leg charts.
Legrests and backs
Front mount and extension mount swing in and out hangers, articulating and elevating legrests, and fixed, height adjustable or reclining backs.
The Hieline Insight
The Quickie SR45 suits an adult up to 265 lbs. who needs regular tilt for comfort or pressure relief and does not need the IRIS's wider range of frames, seating systems and tilt settings. The first choice is manual or power tilt. Take power tilt if the user should be able to shift position without a caregiver, and the foot release if the caregiver's hands are often busy. Pick the rear wheels, tire and casters before the seat height, since Sunrise's chart decides which heights each pairing reaches, then pick the hangers against the user's lower leg length. Common questions
Measure the user seated on a firm surface. Hip width is the widest point across the hips. Seat depth is from the back of the hips to the back of the knee. Lower leg length is from the back of the knee to the bottom of the heel. Sunrise's measuring guide is on the Resources tab.
Both rotate the seat around the rider. The SR45 tilts 45 degrees and carries 265 lbs. The IRIS offers 40 or 55 degree ranges, a 400 lb. Heavy Duty package, the mono back and more legrest and frame options.
Sunrise's seat height chart prints the front seat heights each rear wheel, tire and caster can reach. The build only opens the heights on the chart.
They do not work with a choice you have already made. The reason is printed on the option, and every rule comes from Sunrise's order form.

No. The SR45 is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. The Sunrise warranty covers defects.
