A titanium folding chair built to your measurements
The TiLite 2GX is Permobil's titanium folding wheelchair, a modular box frame with full adjustability, built to order from 12" to 22" wide. It is rated to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame.
Choose the front frame, frame build, seat size and heights, footrest, back, wheels, front wheels, side guards, seating and finish, each checked against Permobil's order form as you build.

Folding titanium frame
The 2GX folds side to side to 10.75" wide, in titanium, which damps vibration and carries a five year frame warranty.
Modular design
The frame can be changed in the field: the front end swaps between fixed and swing away, and the chair can be grown in width or depth as the user's needs change.
Built to your measurements
Full adjustability sets the seat width, seat depth, seat heights, front angle, back height and footrest to the user, from a 12" x 12" seat up to 22" x 20".
Five frame builds at no charge
Standard, hemi height for a 13.5" front seat height, heavy duty to 350 lbs., power adaptable, or reinforced. Permobil charges nothing for any of them.
Three back types
A fixed angle height adjustable back, the same back with an 8 degree bend, or a folding back that adjusts in both angle and height from 80 to 101 degrees.
Frame finishes
Satin titanium or 21 powder coated colors at no charge, and four front tube tattoos on a satin frame.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite 2GX suits a titanium chair user who needs the frame to fold for a car or a closet and still wants the fit built in, at up to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame, which costs nothing extra. Start with the front frame, because the swing away front and the fixed front lead to different front angles and the fixed front is 2.4 lbs. lighter. Pick the frame build next, since the heavy duty frame narrows the seat range to 18" to 22" by 16" to 20", forces 0 degrees of camber and LiteSpeed billet aluminum front wheels, and rules out the folding back, fold-down and bolt-on push handles, the Carbon Blade and Mag wheels and the Glide fork. Set the front seat height against the front wheel size, because Permobil's chart ties the two together and the Glide fork narrows every range. Keep the seat to footrest length at least 2" under the front seat height. Choose the rear wheel size to match the rear seat height, and remember that 25" and 26" wheels need a 15" or deeper seat. If you plan to add a SmartDrive, keep the rear seat height at 13.5" or more. Take the measurements with Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on the last page of the order form before you build.

Order form and measuring
Common questions
Measure seated on a firm surface. Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on page 9 of the order form, on the Resources tab, show where each letter on the build is taken: seat width A, seat depth B, front seat height C, rear seat height D, back height and seat to footrest E, front angle H and camber K.
265 lbs. on the standard frame and 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame. The heavy duty frame is no charge, comes in 18" to 22" seat widths and 16" to 20" seat depths, and includes tension adjustable by straps back upholstery. The SmartDrive MX2+ is rated for users up to 331 lbs.
Permobil's brochure gives a 10.75" total width folded for a 16" x 16" chair with 0 degrees of camber, minimum rear wheel spacing and standard features. It folds side to side.
Permobil's brochure gives a 13.1 lbs. transport weight with a fixed front end and 15.5 lbs. with a swing away front end, for a 16" x 16" chair without rear wheels. A pair of standard 24" rear wheels adds 7.2 lbs.
No. The order form states that the 2GX is not available with the frame transit tie-down option, and its only transit choice is the transport bracket, four tie-downs for securing the empty chair. Transfer to the vehicle seat.
Permobil's order form ties choices together. The front seat height chart sets which front wheels reach your seat height, each rear wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights, the heavy duty frame needs 0 degrees of camber and billet aluminum front wheels, the folding stabilizer bar and the folding back cannot be ordered together, and the back height chart depends on your back type and push handles.
The March 2026 order form offers 12" to 22", with 21" and 22" on the heavy duty frame only. Permobil's brochure and website both print 12" to 20". This page follows the order form, which is what the chair is ordered against.
The order form names them Liquid, Bloom, Rebel and Vector, codes XFF65 to XFF68, and this page uses those names. Permobil's 2GX brochure shows an older set named Mosaic, Flower Garden, Need For Speed and Neon Dreams.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The powder coat swatches use the colors Permobil publishes on its own site, and the satin swatch is sampled from Permobil's own titanium chair photographs.
Permobil's studio chair is a satin titanium 2GX with a swing away front end, integrated push handles, pink Spinergy spokes, Natural-Fit LT handrims and a Comfort Acta-Embrace back support, which Permobil now sells as the Comfort Embrace back. It is one build, not the standard chair.
Permobil publishes the TiLite Folding Wheelchair instructions for use, document PD15030 Rev. 9, through its own ShareFile document portal rather than as a direct link, so it is not on the Resources tab. Ask us and we will send it with the chair.
No. The 2GX is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. Permobil's warranty covers defects.
No. You can order a TiLite 2GX from Hieline without a prescription.
No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the TiLite 2GX is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
