An aluminum dual-tube rigid chair built to your measurements
The TiLite Aero T is Permobil's aluminum dual-tube rigid wheelchair, built to order from 12" to 20" wide with full adjustability. It is rated to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame.
You choose the frame build, seat size and heights, footrest, back, rear wheels, casters, side guards, seating and finish, and every choice is checked against Permobil's order form and its charts as you build.
What stands out
Dual-tube frame
The Aero T frame runs two aluminum tubes on each side, which spreads the load and cuts frame flex so more of each push moves the chair.
Built to your measurements
TiFit sets the rear seat width, seat depth, seat heights, frame angle, back height and footrest to the user, in 0.5" steps on the heights.
Adjustable center of gravity
The rear axle position is set from 1" to 5" in front of the back post in 0.25" steps, and the Precision Lock parts let it be moved later.
Ergonomic seat option
The 6", 7" or 8" ergonomic seat bends the seat tube upward that far in front of the back post, and tension adjustable by straps upholstery is included with it.
Heavy duty frame at no charge
The heavy duty frame raises the rating from 265 lbs. to 350 lbs. and needs tension adjustable back upholstery and billet aluminum casters.
Frame finishes
21 powder coated colors at no charge, four front tube tattoos, and a color anodize package for the caster mount, fork and caps.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite Aero T suits a full-time rigid chair user up to 265 lbs. who wants a chair set to their own measurements, or up to 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame at no extra cost. Start with the rear seat width and depth, then the seat taper, because a taper needs the V-front end and the footrest width chart only offers standard front end widths without one. Set the front and rear seat heights next and pick the rear wheel size to match, since each wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights and 25" and 26" wheels need a 15" or deeper seat. Keep the seat to footrest length at least 2" under the front seat height. If you plan to add a SmartDrive, keep the rear seat height at 13.5" or more and skip the 20" wheels. Take the measurements with Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on the last page of the order form before you build.

Common questions
Measure seated on a firm surface. Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on page 10 of the order form, on the Resources tab, show where each letter on the build is taken: rear seat width A, seat depth B, front seat height C, rear seat height D, seat to footrest E and back height F.
265 lbs. on the standard frame and 350 lbs. on the heavy duty or Q'Straint adaptable frame. The SmartDrive MX2+ is rated for users up to 331 lbs.
No. Permobil's instructions for use say the Aero T has not been crash tested to ISO 7176-19 or WC19 and must not be occupied during transit. Transfer to the vehicle seat and secure the empty chair.
Permobil's order form ties choices together. The footrest width chart sets the standard front end widths for each rear seat width, a seat taper needs the V-front end, each rear wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights, and the heavy duty frame needs tension adjustable back upholstery, billet aluminum casters and 0 or 2 degrees of camber.
The Aero T brochure lists a 13" to 21" rear seat height, a back to 22" and a 3" taper, and Permobil's product page lists camber to 12 degrees and frames that are not on the current form. This page follows Permobil's March 2026 order form, which is what the chair is ordered against.
Permobil gives a 12 lbs. transport weight for a 16" x 16" chair with standard features and no rear wheels. A pair of standard 24" rear wheels adds 7.2 lbs.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The swatches here use the colors Permobil publishes on its own site.
No. The Aero T is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. Permobil's warranty covers defects.
