A pediatric chair with rear wheel access from day one
The TiLite Pilot is Permobil's pediatric rigid wheelchair with carbon fiber side panels, sized from 8" x 9" to 14" x 15". Its forward growth keeps the rear wheels within reach as the child grows, and it carries up to 120 lbs.
Choose the frame, seat size, seat heights, footrest, back, rear and front wheels, seating, positioning, power assist and colors, each checked against Permobil's order form as you build.

Forward growth built in
As the seat depth grows the rear wheels stay where the child can reach them, so there is no need to relearn how to push after each adjustment.
Carbon fiber side panels
The frame uses carbon fiber panels, and Permobil puts the transport weight at 11 lbs. without the rear wheels.
Tool-free adjustments
The seat pan and side panels give easy access, so the seat depth, heights and center of gravity can be changed with little or no tools.
Low footrest
The footrest adjusts down to a 3" seat to footrest length without extra parts, for a small child.
Transit ready
Choose free transport brackets, or WC-19 transit tie-downs crash tested for a child from 51 to 95 lbs., which come with the growth kit frame.
SmartDrive ready
Permobil's SmartDrive MX2+ power assist can be added on 22" or 24" wheels with a rear seat height of 13.5" or more.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite Pilot suits a young child who is learning to push and will grow through several sizes. Its forward growth keeps the rear wheels within reach at every depth, which matters more for a small child than a lighter frame does. Pick the seat width that fits the hips today and the depth range that starts at the thigh length today. The 9" to 12" range takes 20" rear wheels and the 11" to 15" range takes 22" or 24", and that pair sets the seat heights Permobil's chart allows. Choose the growth kit frame if you expect to use the growth, since it also brings the transit tie-downs. If the child will ride in a vehicle seated in the chair, those tie-downs need the TiLite rigid back and the head support, and they are rated from 51 to 95 lbs. Add the SmartDrive only on 22" or 24" wheels.

Permobil's TPFS1 frame includes a one-time growth kit and the WC-19 transit tie-downs, for $208.00 more than the frame without the kit. More growth kits are sold separately by Permobil.
Pick the range that starts at the child's thigh length today. The 9" to 12" range takes 20" rear wheels only, and the 11" to 15" range takes 22" or 24" wheels only.
Permobil's measurements chart sets the front and rear seat height ranges by the seat depth and the rear wheel size. The page greys out the heights the chart does not reach, and the rear seat never sits higher than the front.
Only with the WC-19 transit tie-downs. Permobil crash tested the Pilot with them on a 14" x 15" seat for a child up to 95 lbs., and they need the TiLite rigid back and the head support. Permobil does not offer them for a child under 51 lbs. The transport brackets are for securing the empty chair.

Permobil's order form marks the solid seat pan as required and prices it, so every Pilot includes it at $130.40. The lowest price for a complete chair is $2,834.40.

Permobil's order form lists 16.5", but its measurements chart tops out at 16" on every seat depth and wheel size. The page follows the chart.

Yes. The Pilot order form prints a part number for the frame and for every option, and the order line carries them. The seat to footrest length and the camber carry Permobil's own wording.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The anodize package covers the caster mount, caster fork and caster caps, at no charge.
No. The Pilot is built to order to one child's measurements, so it cannot be returned. Permobil's warranty covers defects.
No. You can order a TiLite Pilot from Hieline without a prescription.
No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the TiLite Pilot is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
