The TiLite TR is Permobil's titanium dual-tube rigid wheelchair with limited adjustability, built to order from 12" to 20" wide. It is rated to 265 lbs., or 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame.
Choose the frame build, seat size and heights, footrest, a folding or fixed back, wheels, casters, side guards, seating and finish, each checked against Permobil's order form as you build.
What stands out
Dual-tube frame
The TR frame runs two titanium tubes on each side, which spreads the load and lets Permobil use smaller, thinner-walled tubing with less frame flex.
Built to your measurements
TiFit sets the rear seat width, seat depth, seat heights, frame angle, back height and footrest to the user when the chair is built, in 0.5" steps on the heights.
Folding or fixed back
Pick a folding back that adjusts in height, or the non-folding fixed height titanium back, set from 5" to 20" and from 80 to 101 degrees in 1 degree steps.
Ergonomic seat option
The 5" to 9" TR ergonomic seat bends the seat tube upward that far in front of the back post, and tension adjustable by straps upholstery is included with it.
Carbon fiber camber tube
The TR can take a carbon fiber camber tube with 0, 2 or 4 degrees of camber and zero play camber plugs.
Frame finishes
Satin titanium or 21 powder coated colors at no charge, four front tube tattoos on a satin frame, and a color anodize package for the caster mounts, forks and caps.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite TR suits a full-time rigid chair user up to 265 lbs. who knows their measurements and wants them built into the frame, or up to 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame, which is no charge at 20" x 20". Start with the rear seat width and depth, then the seat taper, because a taper needs the V-front end and the footrest width chart only offers standard front end widths without one. Set the front and rear seat heights next and pick the rear wheel size to match, since each wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights and 25" and 26" wheels need a 15" or deeper seat. Keep the seat to footrest length at least 2" under the front seat height. Choose the fixed titanium back only if you do not need push handles or swing away armrests, and the carbon fiber camber tube only if you will run 0 to 4 degrees of camber without anti-tips. If you plan to add a SmartDrive, keep the rear seat height at 13.5" or more and skip the 20" wheels. Take the measurements with Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on the last page of the order form before you build.

Common questions
Measure seated on a firm surface. Permobil's TiFit reference diagrams on page 10 of the order form, on the Resources tab, show where each letter on the build is taken: rear seat width A, seat depth B, front seat height C, rear seat height D, seat to footrest E and back height F.
Both are titanium dual-tube rigid frames on the same order form. The TR has limited adjustability, a titanium fork stem as standard, a 19" width option, a 5" to 9" ergonomic seat, the fixed height titanium back and the carbon fiber camber tube. The TRA is the fully adjustable frame.
265 lbs. on the standard frame and 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame. The SmartDrive MX2+ is rated for users up to 331 lbs.
Permobil's order form makes the TR heavy duty frame no charge with a 20" rear seat width and a 20" seat depth. At every other size it is an upcharge. Billet aluminum casters are included with it either way.
No. Permobil's instructions for use say the chair has not been crash tested to ISO 7176-19 or WC19 and must not be occupied during transit. Transfer to the vehicle seat and secure the empty chair.
Permobil's order form ties choices together. The footrest width chart sets the standard front end widths for each rear seat width, a seat taper needs the V-front end, each rear wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights, the fixed back takes no push handles or swing away armrests, and the heavy duty frame needs the folding aluminum back, tension adjustable back upholstery and 0 or 2 degrees of camber.
The TR and TRA brochure lists a 3" taper, a folding back to 22" and Q-Straint lock down, and Permobil's product page lists frames that are not on the current form. This page follows Permobil's March 2026 order form, which is what the chair is ordered against.
Permobil's brochure gives a 10.8 lbs. transport weight for a 16" x 16" chair with standard features and no rear wheels. A pair of standard 24" rear wheels adds 7.2 lbs. Permobil's product page says the latest TR is 13% lighter and gives no new figure.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The powder coat swatches use the colors Permobil publishes on its own site, and the satin swatch is sampled from Permobil's TRA photographs.
No. The TR is built to order to one user's measurements, so it cannot be returned. Permobil's warranty covers defects.
No. You can order a TiLite TR from Hieline without a prescription.
No. Hieline does not bill or accept insurance, so the TiLite TR is a direct purchase. Any reimbursement is strictly between you and your insurer.
