A pediatric rigid chair that grows with your child
The TiLite Twist is Permobil's aluminum mono-tube pediatric wheelchair, sized from 8" x 8" to 15" x 16". The seat grows 2" in width and 3" in depth with no growth kit to buy, and the chair carries up to 165 lbs.
Choose the seat size ranges, front end, seat heights, footrest, rear wheels, back, seating, positioning and colors, each checked against Permobil's order form as you build.

Growth built in
Each seat width range grows 2" and each seat depth range grows 3". The upholstery and parts to grow the chair come with it, so there is no growth kit to buy.
Full adjustability
Permobil's Tru-Fit mechanism adjusts without a fixed row of holes, so the seat heights, center of gravity and back can be set to the exact position the child needs.
High mount footrest
The high mount footrests take the seat to footrest length as short as 5", for a small child, without risers or clamp-on parts.
Center mount push handle
The bolt-on center mount push handle is height adjustable and comes off easily, and it comes in small, standard and tall.
Folding back
The folding aluminum back folds from any angle with the TiShaft release bar and locks when it is folded, so the chair packs down for the car.
Center mount anti-tip
A single swivel or non-swivel caster anti-tip sits in the middle of the frame, so the child can learn wheelies and curbs with the anti-tip behind them.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite Twist suits a child who pushes the chair on their own and will outgrow any fixed size inside a year or two. It grows 2" in width and 3" in depth with no growth kit, which is where most of its value sits. Measure the child's hip width and seat depth today and pick the ranges that start at those numbers, so the growth is still ahead of them. Then pick the front wheel and fork, because together with the depth range they set which front seat heights Permobil can build. A small child who needs a low seat does best on 3" or 4" front wheels and the high mount footrest, which reaches a 5" seat to footrest length. If you want an upgraded handrim, choose 22" or 24" rear wheels, since most handrim upgrades are not made for 18" and 20" wheels. If the child will ride in a vehicle seated in the chair, add the transit tie-downs, and note that Permobil does not offer them for a child under 51 lbs.

Order form and measuring
Common questions
Measure the child seated on a firm surface. Pick the width range whose smallest size fits the hips today, and the depth range whose smallest size fits the thigh today. Permobil ships the chair at the smallest size of each range unless you set another, and the width then grows 2" and the depth 3" as the child grows.
Permobil's front seat height chart sets the range by three things: the front wheel size, whether the fork is the Glide suspension fork, and the seat depth range. The page greys out the heights the chart does not reach for your choices. The 2" taper footrest adds 1.5" to the lowest height.
The high mount footrests sit higher on the frame, so the seat to footrest length can be as short as 5". The standard footrests run from 9" and must be at least 2" shorter than the front seat height. Permobil's footrest chart sets the exact range by the seat depth range and the front wheel size.
The wheel size sets the rear seat height range: 12" to 17" on 18" wheels, 13" to 17.5" on 20", 14" to 18.5" on 22" and 15" to 19.5" on 24". The 8" to 11" seat depth range needs 18" or 20" wheels. Most handrim upgrades are not made for 18" or 20" wheels.
Only with the transit tie-downs. Permobil crash tested the Twist with its transit tie-down option to ISO 7176-19, secured facing forward, with vehicle-anchored shoulder and pelvic belts. Permobil does not offer the option for a user under 51 lbs. Without it, the child transfers to a vehicle seat.

No. Permobil's Twist order form prints no SmartDrive rows, so the Twist is sold without one.
Permobil sets the Glide suspension fork by rider weight in three bands. The heaviest band, 180 to 265 lbs., is above the Twist's 165 lbs. weight limit, so it is left off this page.
Permobil publishes the Twist service manual and parts manual only through a ShareFile link, so they are not on this page. The owner's manual on the Resources tab is TiLite's OM0006 Rev B edition.
Yes. The Twist order form prints a part number for the frame and for every option, and the order line carries them. Choices the form asks you to write in, such as the set seat width and depth and the seat to footrest length, carry Permobil's own wording.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The frame and the caster arm are painted separately, and the anodize package covers the caster mount, caster fork and caster caps.
No. The Twist is built to order to one child's measurements, so it cannot be returned. Permobil's warranty covers defects.
