An aluminum rigid chair built to your measurements
The TiLite Z is Permobil's aluminum rigid wheelchair, fully adjustable and built to order from 12" to 20" wide. It is rated to 250 lbs., 275 lbs. at no charge, or 350 lbs. on the heavy duty frame, and there is a WC-19 transit frame.
Choose the frame, seat size and heights, front angle, centre of gravity, footrest, back, wheels, front wheels, side guards, seating and finish, each checked against Permobil's order form as you build.
What stands out
Aluminum rigid frame
A rigid frame is built from the fewest parts, which is what makes it light. Permobil gives the Z an 11.3 lbs. transport weight on a 16" x 16" chair.
Built to your measurements
TiFit sets the seat width, seat depth, seat heights, front angle, centre of gravity, back height and footrest to the user when the chair is built, in 0.5" steps on the heights.
Precision Lock caster adjustment
The caster angle is set with Permobil's Precision Lock adjustment rather than by eye, so the casters can be squared after a change to the seat heights.
A WC-19 transit frame
The transit frame is tested to WC-19 and comes with four tie-down brackets and two pelvic belt mounting brackets. It is a frame choice, not an add-on, and it cannot be combined with the heavy duty frame.

250 lbs., 275 lbs. at no charge, the WC-19 transit frame, or the heavy duty frame at 350 lbs. in 18" to 20" widths.

Twenty-one powder coated frame colors at no charge, and a seven-color anodize package for the caster mount, fork and caps.
The Hieline Insight
The TiLite Z is the aluminum rigid chair to pick when you want a TiFit fit without the titanium price, and at $1,925.00 it is the cheapest chair in the TiLite range. Decide the frame first, because it is the one choice you cannot change later: the 250 lbs. and 275 lbs. frames cost the same, the WC-19 transit frame is the only one you can ride in seated in a vehicle, and the heavy duty frame takes the chair to 350 lbs. but narrows it to 18" to 20" wide by 16" to 20" deep and rules out the Glide fork and the ROHO AGILITY backs. Set the seat width and depth next, since Permobil's size chart does not build every combination: a 12" or 13" wide chair stops at an 18" depth, and a 20" wide chair starts at a 16" depth. Pick the rear wheel size against the rear seat height, because each size covers its own range. Keep the seat to footrest length at least 2" under the front seat height, and remember the footrest width follows the seat width and the taper from Permobil's own chart. If you plan to add a SmartDrive, keep the rear seat height at 13.5" or more. Take the measurements with Permobil's measurement guide on page 8 of the order form before you build.

Measure seated on a firm surface. Permobil's measurement guide on page 8 of the order form, on the Resources tab, shows where each letter on the build is taken: seat width A, seat depth B, front seat height C, rear seat height D, front angle E, centre of gravity F, footrest width G, seat to footrest H, back height I, back angle J and camber K.
Permobil's July 2026 order form for the Z prints no part numbers on any row. It is ordered by description, so the order line carries Permobil's own wording for every choice you make and nothing is invented.
250 lbs. on the standard frame, or 275 lbs. at no charge if you choose it. The heavy duty frame carries 350 lbs. and comes in 18" to 20" seat widths and 16" to 20" seat depths. The WC-19 transit frame is 250 lbs. only. Permobil's brochure and website give 275 lbs. as the standard figure; the order form makes 250 lbs. the standard and 275 lbs. a choice, and this page follows the form.
Yes, on the aluminum rigid frame with WC-19 transit tie-downs, which is a frame choice rather than an add-on. It is tested to WC-19 and comes with four tie-down brackets and two pelvic belt mounting brackets. Permobil recommends the Q'Straint WC-19 anchored pelvic belt with it. The separate transport brackets are for securing the empty chair only.
Permobil builds a set list of seat sizes. A 12" or 13" wide chair runs 12" to 18" deep, a 14" to 16" wide chair runs 13" to 20", a 17" to 19" wide chair runs 14" to 20", and a 20" wide chair runs 16" to 20". The chart is on page 2 of the order form.
Permobil's order form ties choices together. Each rear wheel size covers its own range of rear seat heights, 85 degrees of front angle does not take 6" front wheels and 90 degrees takes neither 5" nor 6", the footrest width follows the seat width and taper from Permobil's chart, the back height range depends on your push handles, and the heavy duty frame includes the billet aluminum front wheels at no charge.
Permobil's note on the standard rear wheel reads: order 24" wheels with a treaded pneumatic tire or a treaded tire with airless inserts, and aluminum silver or aluminum black handrims with long tabs, and the chair ships with TiLite standard rear wheels. Any other combination ships with TiLite SHADOW rear wheels.
Permobil's brochure gives an 11.3 lbs. transport weight for a 16" x 16" Z with 0 degrees of camber, 4" poly casters, Comfort Company Compass 4 hardware and standard seat upholstery, without wheel locks, anti-tips, footrests, armrests, rear wheels, side guards or seating.
Permobil notes that on-screen colors are for reference only. The powder coat swatches use the colors Permobil publishes on its own site.
Permobil's studio chair is a Z in a purple anodize with black Spinergy SPOX wheels on purple spokes, MBL SpeedLite tires, an aluminum footplate, aluminum side guards, no push handles and a cushion. It is one build, not the standard chair.
Permobil publishes the TiLite Z owner's manual, service manual and parts manual through its own ShareFile document portal rather than as direct links, so they are not on the Resources tab. Ask us and we will send them with the chair.
