A cushion is a support surface that sits against the body, so once it ships it cannot be returned. Measure the seat of your wheelchair before you order and use the size steps above. The warranty is unaffected, so a defect is still covered.

Who is the Elements for?

Permobil classes the Elements with Gel as a general use cushion, billed under HCPCS E2601 or E2602. It is made for comfort. If a clinician has asked for skin protection, look at the Comfort M2, which is a skin protection and positioning cushion.

2" or 3"?

Both have the same foam base and gel pack. The 3" is taller and costs $21 more, or $9 more at 22" and 24" wide. If you are replacing an Elements cushion, choose the thickness you have now.

Why can I not get the 3" in Stretch-Air?

Comfort discontinued the 3" Stretch-Air cushion in its standard sizes. The 3" comes in Comfort-Tek, and the 2" comes in both covers.

Comfort-Tek or Stretch-Air?

Comfort-Tek is the cover for fluid protection and it wipes clean. Stretch-Air is the cover for comfort and heat dissipation. Both have a non-skid bottom and cost the same.

How do I choose the size?

Match the width and depth of your wheelchair seat. Comfort makes 16", 18" and 20" deep at every width except 24", which comes 18" and 20" deep.

Why do 22" and 24" widths cost more?

Comfort lists cushions 22" and 24" wide at a higher price. They are billed under HCPCS E2602 instead of E2601.

What is the weight limit?

It depends on the width: 250 lbs. at 16", 300 lbs. at 18", 350 lbs. at 20" and 400 lbs. at 22" and 24". Permobil's product page gives 400 lbs., which is the limit at 22" and wider.

How long is the warranty?

Permobil's Comfort Company warranty policy covers the cushion for 5 years and the cover for 6 months against manufacturing defects. Permobil's product page and catalog give the same terms.

Can I return it?

No. A cushion is a support surface, so it cannot be returned once it ships. The warranty still applies to any defect.
