A carbon fiber folding power chair that weighs 40.8 lbs. with its battery and 36.4 lbs. without it. The lithium pack is FAA compliant, the joystick comes off and mounts on either armrest, and you can switch to manual push mode when the battery runs out. Holds 330 lbs.
What stands out
This chair is designed around one problem, which is getting a power chair into a car and onto a plane, and it solves it with carbon fiber and a 4.4 lbs. lithium pack that meets the FAA rule. Lifting 36.4 lbs. and a battery separately is a different job from lifting a 60 lbs. folding chair in one piece, and that is the whole argument for the price. The 330 lbs. capacity is higher than most travel power chairs manage, and the flip-back arms and mesh seat mean it is comfortable enough to sit in all day rather than only to cross an airport. What it is not is an outdoor chair: 2.4" of ground clearance, 7" front wheels and 3.7 mph mean pavements and indoor floors, not grass or gravel. The seat is 17" wide with no wider option, so measure hips first, because that single figure decides whether this chair works at all.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- travel by plane, train or ship and need a battery that is allowed on board
- need to lift a power chair into a car and want to carry 36.4 lbs. and a 4.4 lbs. battery separately
- weigh up to 330 lbs. and fit a 17" seat
- want the joystick on the left, or moved for a carer
Look elsewhere if you
- need a seat wider than 17"
- drive outdoors over grass, gravel or kerbs, because ground clearance is 2.4" and the wheels are small
- need more than 10.5 miles between charges
- weigh more than 330 lbs.
