What stands out
The choice worth thinking about on this bed is what you are motorising and what you are not. The head and foot sections are the parts a person in the bed wants to move several times a day, and those are on the motor here. The overall height is the part a carer changes once at the start of a shift and once at the end, and that is the hand crank at the foot end. If nobody is providing daily hands-on care, the crank will barely get used and the money saved against a full-electric bed is real. If a carer is in the room several times a day and has a bad back, the crank is the thing they will complain about, and the full-electric version is worth the difference. The other number to check before you order is the low setting. It goes to 15.5\" at the deck, which is a good transfer height next to a wheelchair, and it is not a low bed in the fall-prevention sense, so if the concern is someone rolling out at night this is not the frame for it. The bed arrives in pieces, weighs 163 lbs. together, and needs two people and about an hour.
