What stands out
This is the bed to buy when somebody is providing daily hands-on care, because the height is on the motor and that is the adjustment a carer makes over and over. A semi-electric bed saves real money and puts that one job on a hand crank at the foot end, which is fine if nobody is using it and irritating if somebody is. The 9.5" low setting is a genuine benefit for getting in and out, though it is not as low as the Prime Care P503 at 7.8", so if the reason you are shopping is fall risk rather than convenience, look at that one instead. The number most people miss on this bed is the 2.6" of clearance underneath. A floor patient lift rolls its legs under the bed to get the sling over the person, and most of them need more room than that, so if a lift is part of the plan measure its legs before you order. The bed arrives in two main pieces at 68 lbs. and 101 lbs., so it is a two-person job to put together.

- plan to use a floor patient lift at the bedside, because there is only 2.6" of clearance underneath
- do not need the height motorised, where the semi-electric Delta Ultra-Light costs a good deal less
- need a true fall-prevention height, where the Prime Care P503 goes to 7.8"
- need a deck wider than 34.65" or a load over 450 lbs.
