What stands out
This bed does two things that usually force you to choose. It goes down to 7", which is fall-prevention territory, and up to 30", which is full standing working height for a carer, and almost nothing else here covers both ends of that. It also widens from 31" to 42", so you are not committing to a width on the day you order. Together those make it the bed to buy when the situation is going to change, or when more than one person will use it over time. The cost of that flexibility is real: it is roughly three times the price of a good standard homecare bed and it weighs 254 lbs. before the boards go on. If the person weighs under 350 lbs., is not a fall risk, and nobody is providing daily bedside care, you are paying for range you will not use. Two things are not included and both matter: the mattress, which has to match the width setting you choose, and the assist rails, which add 3" to each side of the bed and therefore to the doorway you need.

- need more than 600 lbs., where the Prime Plus P2002 goes to 1000 lbs.
- cannot give the bed 87" to 97" of wall
- are not budgeting separately for a mattress and assist rails, neither of which is included
