What stands out
The reason to buy this bed rather than a fixed-width bariatric bed is that you do not have to guess the width right on the day you order. It goes from 39" to 54" in four steps by pulling pins, in the room, in a couple of minutes, so a bed bought at 42" is still the right bed if the person's needs change or if a different resident uses it later. That flexibility is also what gets it into the house: at 38.2" in its mobility position it goes through a standard doorway and then opens out. Two things to plan for before you order. The first is the mattress, which is not included and has to widen with the deck, so budget for a bariatric mattress and match it to the deck length you choose. The second is the room: at 92" without the wall guard and 100" with it, this bed is longer than a domestic double, and at 469 lbs. empty it is not something to reposition casually. One thing the frame can do that we do not sell the part for is Trendelenburg, which needs Drive's lockable staff control. If the tilt is the reason you are buying, this is not the bed to buy from us.
