The Hieline Take

This bed and the full-electric low height bed are the same frame with different motors, and the trade between them is not the one most people expect. The full-electric version motorises the height and drops to 9.5", which sounds strictly better, but it does that by sitting the frame closer to the floor and leaves only 2.6" underneath. This one starts higher at 14.96", keeps the height on a hand crank, and leaves 5.9" of clearance. If a floor patient lift is part of the daily routine, that clearance is the whole decision and this is the bed, because a lift that cannot get its legs under the frame is a lift you cannot use. If no lift is involved and somebody is adjusting the height several times a day, buy the motorised one instead. The other thing this frame does better than its siblings is the foot section, which raises to 46 degrees where most homecare beds stop around 30, so it is the better choice if the legs need elevating for swelling or circulation.
