What stands out
A trapeze lets a person who has the arm strength pull up, shift or turn in bed without waiting for help. Invacare describes this one as an aid for repositioning in the CS600, and its brochure says it secures in three positions to suit the user. It is for assistance only and is not designed to hold the user's whole body weight. Invacare's two documents disagree on the load: the CS600 manual gives a safe working load of 220 lbs. and the brochure 200 lbs., so plan on the lower figure. The manual says to assess the person before they use it, never to let children play or swing on it, to turn the handle over the center of the bed until it drops into its anti-rotation position, and to take the trapeze off when using the head-down tilt.
