Invacare's Reliant 450 lifts a person who cannot stand from a bed, chair, commode or the floor, with a quiet electric motor, a six-point swivel bar and a removable battery that swaps with a second one on the wall charger.
What stands out
The Reliant 450 is the lift to look at when a person cannot bear weight and a caregiver needs to move them safely between the bed, a wheelchair, the commode or the floor. The motor does the lifting from a hand pendant, the lift range of 24" to 74" reaches from the floor to a high bed, and the low base slides under a bed with 4.5" of clearance. It comes with two 24V batteries, one on the lift and one on the wall charger, so a flat battery is a quick swap, and a charge lasts 150 to 300 lifts. If the power fails there is an emergency stop and a manual lowering release. The standard base opens with a padded shifter handle, and the power opening base does it from the pendant, which is worth the extra if the caregiver has back or hand trouble. You also choose a sling here, because the lift does not come with one.
