The two chambers under your seat bones hold CryoFluid, millions of wax-filled microbeads with graphite that melt as they draw heat from the skin. Sunrise measured the effect for up to 8 hours at 77° F.

This is the JAY Fusion with one change that matters for skin: the insert. Its two chambers under your seat bones hold CryoFluid, wax-filled microbeads that draw heat out of the skin as they melt, and Sunrise measured that cooling for up to 8 hours at room temperature. JAY Flow fluid fills the other three chambers, so the fluid still moves under you and needs no pumping. The base is the Fusion contoured foam with its rear pelvic wall, in Standard, Reduced Profile 3" or Positioning, and 68 sizes up to 22" wide. Mind the weight limit: 300 lbs. up to 21" wide and 500 lbs. at 22". If you run warm in the chair, this is the Fusion to look at.

A cushion is a support surface that sits against the body, so once it ships it cannot be returned. Measure before you order and use the size steps above. The warranty is unaffected, so a defect is still covered.

What does the Cryo insert do?
JAY Fluid with Cryo Technology is a fluid filled with millions of microbeads of paraffin wax and graphite. Your skin is warmer than the beads, so heat moves from the skin into the fluid until the beads melt. Sunrise states this keeps the seated skin in a range of 82.4° F to 95° F for up to 8 hours, measured in its own testing at 77° F. The beads set again once the fluid cools back to room temperature.
How is it different from the JAY Fusion?
The base, covers, sizes up to 22" wide and the three styles are the same Fusion. The Fusion comes with a JAY Flow fluid or an air insert. This model comes with the five chamber Cryo insert, with CryoFluid in the two chambers under your seat bones and JAY Flow fluid in the other three.
Standard, Reduced Profile or Positioning?
Standard is 4" tall. Reduced Profile is 3" tall, which keeps your seat lower. Positioning is the 4" cushion with a pair of 1" hip guides, a pair of 1" adductors and a 1" abductor wedge in pockets in the inner cover. JAY does not make a Reduced Profile Positioning cushion.
How do I choose the size?
Width is measured from outside edge to outside edge of the cushion, and should match your hips when you sit. Depth is measured from the front edge of the rear cutout to the front lower edge of the cushion, and the cushion should reach to within 1" to 2" of the back of your knees. We list the 68 standard sizes. The Cryo model is made up to 22" wide.
What is the weight limit?
300 lbs. on cushions 14" to 21" wide and 500 lbs. on the 22" width. Those are the figures on the order form and the Fusion owner's manual. Sunrise's product page gives 330 lbs. for the narrower widths. We publish the lower figure.
Why does the 22" width cost more?
It carries the 500 lbs. insert and is billed under HCPCS E2623 or E2625. It costs $129.75 more on our page.
What comes in the box?
An Ionic+ outer cover, the inner cover, the foam base and the JAY Cryo and Flow fluid insert. The Positioning style adds the hip guides, adductors and abductor wedge.
How do I clean it?
Turn the outer cover inside out and machine wash it in warm water, 140° F, then drip dry or tumble dry on low. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean it. Wipe the fluid insert with warm soapy water and dry it. Wipe the foam base with a damp cloth and no soap. Never submerge the fluid insert or the foam base. Check the fluid for bottoming out once a month.
How long is the warranty?
Sunrise Medical warrants the cushion for 24 months and the removable cover for 6 months against defects in materials and workmanship. Punctures, tears and burns are not covered.
Can I return it?
No. A cushion is a support surface, so it cannot be returned once it ships. The warranty still applies to any defect.
