The Joerns bed transport bar is a handle for pushing a WeCare bed on its casters. It is for moving an empty bed, never a bed with a person in it.
The Joerns bed transport bar is a handle for pushing a WeCare bed on its casters. It is for moving an empty bed, and Joerns says the bed is not a transport device.
What stands out
A WeCare bed rolls once it is lowered onto its casters, and this bar gives a caregiver something to push. Joerns designed it for moving the bed, and it is plain about the limits. The WeCare is not a transport device, so the bed is moved empty. Push down and forward on the handle. Pushing up on it, or using it to lift the bed over a threshold, can make the bar come off the bed, and then the bed is out of control. A slope needs two people, one at each end of the bed. The bar is installed with the instructions that come with it. Joerns lists this part for the WeCare and the UltraCare XT and does not list it for the EasyCare. Buy it if the bed is moved often, for cleaning or between rooms.
