A DermaFloat APL system is two parts, a mattress and a control unit, and Joerns sells each one alone. This is the mattress. Buy it when the mattress on a working APL system is damaged or will no longer hold air, and keep the control unit you have. It has twenty air cells 8" deep, an integrated low air loss system and the CairRails air bolsters, and it carries 350 lbs. It needs the DermaFloat APL control unit to alternate the pressure and to move air. Pick the size of the mattress you are replacing. The 36" x 80" mattress is the size of the APL system listed here. Joerns also lists a 42" x 80" replacement mattress, while its other APL documents describe one size, so order the 42" mattress only to replace a 42" APL mattress you already own. If the control unit has failed as well, compare the two parts with the price of a whole system before you order, because together they cost about as much as the system.
