The chair in Journey's range that drives differently from all the others. Two levers under your hands steer it like a zero-turn mower, so it spins inside a 24" radius where the rest of the line needs 33" to 35". It runs to 6 mph against 3.7 mph everywhere else, the aluminum frame weighs 38 lbs. before the battery and 42 lbs. with it in, and it folds to 36" x 25" x 10" and rolls on its own wheels. Weight capacity is 275 lbs., the seat is 16.5" across, and a cargo basket, charger, tool kit and spare keys come in the box.

Zero-turn steering, 24" radius
Two levers under your hands drive the wheels independently, the way a zero-turn mower works. The chair spins inside 24" where the rest of Journey's line needs 33" or more, which is what gets it through doorways and around bathroom corners.
Up to 6 mph on a 36V battery
Three speed settings and reverse, topping out at 6 mph, which is nearly double anything else Journey builds. The 36V 7.8Ah lithium battery is rated to 8 miles and charges in 4 hours or less, and a 10.5Ah extended battery is sold separately.
Folds to 10" and rolls like a suitcase
It folds in seconds to 36" x 25" x 10" and then rolls on its own wheels, so it goes to the car without being carried. The chair is 38 lbs. before the battery and 42 lbs. with it in.
Swing-away footplate and a cargo basket
The patented footplate swings out of the way so you can stand up straight out of the chair. Rear anti-tip wheels are fitted, and a cargo basket, charger, tool kit and spare battery keys come in the box.
The Zinger is worth looking at for one reason and you should decide on that reason alone. Two levers steer it like a zero-turn mower, which lets it spin inside 24" where every other Journey chair needs 33" or more, and it runs to 6 mph where the rest of the line tops out at 3.7. In a small apartment, a narrow hallway or a bathroom doorway that is the difference between fitting and not. The cost of that is real. Lever steering needs two working hands with reasonable grip and strength on both sides, so it rules out anyone who drives one-handed or has a weak side, and there is no joystick option. It also has the shortest range in Journey's line at 8 miles, and the rear tires are air-filled at 35 to 40 psi, so unlike every other Journey chair it can get a flat. Journey is explicit that this is a personal electric vehicle and not a medical device or a wheelchair, so do not buy it expecting Medicare or Medicaid to cover it.

Common questions
With two levers, one under each hand, driving the left and right wheels independently. Push both forward to go, pull one back to spin on the spot. It is the same idea as a zero-turn mower, and it is why the chair turns inside 24". There is no joystick version.
No. Two-lever steering needs reasonable grip and strength in both hands. If you drive one-handed or have a weaker side, look at the Zoomer or the Air Elite, both of which use a single joystick that installs on either arm.
24", which is the tightest in Journey's range. The Zoomer needs 33.5" and the three Air chairs need 35.4". In a narrow hallway or a small bathroom that is often the difference between fitting and not.
Up to 6 mph on the top of three speed settings, against 3.7 mph on every other Journey power chair. That is a brisk walking pace for someone next to you rather than a stroll.
A 36V 7.8Ah lithium battery, rated to 8 miles and charging in 4 hours or less. Journey sells a 36V 10.5Ah extended battery separately, rated to 9.7 miles.
The rear ones can. They are 9" pneumatic tires running at 35 to 40 psi on a Schrader valve, and Journey sells both the tube and the tire as spare parts. The 6" front casters and the anti-tip wheels are solid polyurethane. This is the one chair in Journey's range that is not flat-free, so keep a pump with it.
