Rear-wheel drive with four-post seat mounting, rated to climb 10 degrees. That is a wide turn, so measure the tightest corner in the house before you order.
Batteries and charger included
Two 12V Group 24 AGM batteries at 75 Ah and a 6A off-board charger come with every chair, and they carry it up to 32 miles on a charge.

The chair separates for transport. Be clear about what that means at this size: the heaviest single piece is 167 lbs., so it is a lift for two strong people or a vehicle lift.
The Atlantis is a bariatric chair and it should be judged as one. The number that matters is the four seat posts: at 600 lbs. a single-post seat flexes, and the four-post frame is the reason this chair holds a 26" seat steady where a converted standard chair would not. The rest follows from that. The backrest is 24" high rather than the 21" you get on a full-size chair, the motors are 300W, and two Group 24 batteries at 75 Ah are included and carry it up to 32 miles, which is the longest range of any Merits power chair we sell. The 24" seat is the standard width and the 26" adds $200, so size the seat to the rider rather than defaulting to the wider one. What you trade for all this is space and upkeep. The chair is 44" long and needs 31.5" to turn, so the deciding measurement is not your doorway, it is the corner where a hallway meets a bathroom. The tires are pneumatic rather than foam-filled, which rides better and can go flat, so somebody has to check the pressure. And it weighs 304 lbs. with a heaviest piece of 167 lbs., so moving it between floors or into a vehicle is a real job rather than an afternoon one. If you are close to the top of a 450 lbs. chair rather than past it, look at the Vision Super first, because it is a smaller machine to live with.

What is not covered
Wear items are not covered. Those are tires and tubes, fuses and bulbs, battery cases, plastic and rubber parts, motor brushes, brake pads, upholstery including the seat and the arm pads, and painted surfaces including the frame and the side panels.
Accidents, acts of nature, loss and theft are not covered either. The warranty is void if the chair is altered or serviced by anyone Merits Health has not authorized, if the serial number is removed, or if the chair is misused, neglected or kept in unsuitable conditions. Labor, service calls, freight and any other cost of fitting a warranty part are the owner's.

Common questions
32" with the 24" seat, the figure on Merits Health's Atlantis flyer. One other Merits document prints 27", which is narrower than the 26" seat plus its armrests and drive wheels could ever measure, so we publish 32". Merits print no separate overall width for the 26" seat, which sits on the same base.
A Dynamic LiNX. Merits Health's price list, their March 2026 order form for this model (P710) and the flyer all name the LiNX, and the order form sells its swing-away bracket as the bracket for LiNX. The March 2026 manual that names a P&G VR2 is filed as the P710A's, a second configuration of the Atlantis.

They can. The 12" drive wheels and the 9" casters are pneumatic, which means air-filled, so they ride softer than the foam-filled tires on our other Merits Health chairs and they can be punctured. Somebody needs to check the pressure from time to time, the same way you would on a bicycle.

Depth adjusts on the chair in 1" steps from 20" to 22" once it is with you. Measure from your back to the back of your knee, take off an inch or two, and aim for a gap of three or four fingers behind the knee.

This sets how the joystick is held, and it is separate from which side it sits on. You choose the side in the Joystick position step, at no charge.
In-line is the standard mount and the joystick stays fixed at the end of the armrest.
Swing-away lets you push the joystick clear so the chair pulls under a table, a desk or a kitchen counter.
Retract4 swing-away does the same and also pulls back further, on a heavier bracket. Pick it if you eat and work at a table in this chair every day.

This is the armrest the joystick sits on. Most people choose the side of their stronger hand. Both sides cost the same.

The XL footplate comes with the chair. It is one large platform, 16" X 12", and it flips up out of the way.
Elevating legrests swing away to the side and raise, so a leg can be held out straight and supported. Pick these if you have swelling that is helped by raising the leg, or a knee or a hip that does not bend far. They add length to the front of a chair that is already 44" long, which is worth knowing if the turn into a bathroom is tight.
Merits Health is short of the elevating legrests on the 26" seat at the moment. We will still take the order and we will tell you what the timing looks like before you commit.
