Natural Fit Surge handrims are oval push rims with a strip of grippy material around the outside and smooth sides for braking. They are sold as a pair in 22", 24", 25" and 26".
The Natural Fit Surge is an oval handrim with a strip of grippy material around the outside and smooth sides for braking. It is sold as a pair in four sizes.
What stands out
The Surge is the oval Natural Fit with one addition, a strip of grippy material around the outside of the handrim. Spinergy says the strip adds traction on the push, and the sides stay smooth for braking. That split is the reason to choose it over a handrim coated all over, which grips on the push and on the brake alike. Spinergy's page says little else about it. It gives no weight, no tab count and no fit list, so ask us first if your wheels are not Spinergy wheels. The Surge LT is the lighter version. A grip strip is a wearing surface, and Spinergy's warranty does not cover normal wear. Check the size before you order, because handrims cannot be returned.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- want more traction on the push than a smooth rim gives
- want smooth sides for braking
- want an oval handrim
Look elsewhere if you
- need a handrim coated all over for limited hand function
- are choosing a handrim by its weight
- have not checked the size of your wheels
