The Newton folding stabilizer bar links the two back canes of a folding wheelchair. A slide mechanism releases it with one hand so the chair can fold.
What stands out
A folding wheelchair gives up some stiffness at the back, because the two back canes are joined only by the upholstery. A stabilizer bar ties them together, which firms up the back for the user and gives a helper something solid to push against. The trouble with an ordinary bar is that it takes two hands to undo before the chair will fold. The Newton bar slides open with one hand and locks again the same way, so folding the chair stays a quick job for someone with limited grip or dexterity. It fits the Helio A6, Helio A7, Helio C2 and Helio Kids. Motion Composites does not offer it with a stroller handle or with the heavy duty option, and it is made to your chair's seat width, so choose the width before you order.
