The Newton UltraCaster is a 1.5" wide front caster wheel for Motion Composites wheelchairs. It comes with a composite hub in 5" and 6" and a 6061 T6 aluminum hub in 4", 5" and 6".
Newton UltraCasters are Motion Composites' Soft-Roll front caster wheels, built for lower rolling resistance. Each one is sold on its own.
What stands out
Front casters decide how a chair feels over cracks, thresholds and rough pavement, and they are a wear part. The UltraCaster is Motion Composites' upgrade wheel: 1.5" wide with a soft tread, which the company engineered for lower rolling resistance. The composite version keeps the cost down. The aluminum version uses a 6061 T6 hub. Diameter is the choice that matters. A smaller wheel turns more easily and clears your feet, and a larger one rolls over obstacles with less effort. The wheel has to match the fork on your chair, so order the diameter you have now unless you are changing forks as well. Each wheel is sold on its own, so order two for a pair.
