What stands out
Buy the 5020 for the armrests and nothing else, because that is what you are paying for. Arms that flip up out of the way turn every transfer into a sideways slide, and for somebody whose legs will not hold them through a stand-and-turn, that single feature decides whether they can get onto a bed or a toilet without help. Everything else on the chair supports the same idea of an easier day. The front casters sit on springs, so a threshold does not jar the spine. There is a leaning rod behind the frame that an attendant steps on to lift the front wheels up a curb, which is far kinder on the back than hauling at the handles. The honest cost is weight and fit. At 29.8 lbs. it is the heaviest chair in this range, nearly 7 lbs. over the Traveller 5019, and the rear wheels do not come off, so this is not the chair for somebody loading a trunk twice a day. It also comes in one colour and one seat size.
