What stands out
Two numbers make the case for the 5023 and both of them are about the seat. It is 20" across, where a transport chair is usually 18" or 18.5", and it sits at 17.7" instead of the usual 20". Wider matters if the standard chair pinches at the hips, and lower matters if you are short, because the feet reach the floor and the drop in and out of the chair is smaller. Everything else is the same sensible aluminum build: a back that folds down on a release at each side, full-length padded arms, locking rear wheels and footrests that swing away and lift off, which takes the chair from 42.1" deep to 28.7". The trade against the 5014 is at the front wheels, 6" here against 8" there, and small casters are what stop dead on a rough sidewalk. Take this one for the seat and take the 5014 for the ground.
