A rolling walker for beginning gait training. The front wheels are 5" and the rear legs end in rubber tips rather than wheels, so the frame will not roll out from under you when you put weight on it. It has a padded seat, an under-seat pouch and a flip-up back, and at 10.85 lbs. it is the lightest walker Nova make.

Built for gait training Rear rubber tips instead of hand brakes

A folding four-wheel rolling walker with 5" front wheels and rear rubber tips that stop the frame rolling away. It has no hand brakes, and that is deliberate.

What stands out

●
Rear rubber tips instead of rear wheels
The back legs end in rubber tips that grip the floor. Lean on the walker and it stays put, which is the point of a gait training frame.
●
No hand brakes, on purpose
Nova build the Cruiser II for users who cannot reliably operate a brake lever. Instead of asking the hands to stop the walker, the frame does not roll away in the first place.
●
10.85 lbs.
The lightest walker in Nova's rolling walker range, which matters when it is being lifted for someone else.
●
Padded seat with a pouch underneath
Somewhere to rest partway through a walk, with a pouch beneath the seat for personal items.
●
Flip-up back
The backrest folds up so you can step into the seat from behind, then drops back down to support you while you sit.
●
Lock N Load fold
The frame folds and locks in the folded position, so it stays shut while it is carried or stored.
The Hieline Take

Read the absence of brakes as the feature, because that is what it is. The Cruiser II has 5" front wheels and rubber tips on the back legs, so when you put weight through the handles the frame grips the floor instead of running away from you. That is the right design for someone re-establishing a walking pattern, or for anyone who cannot be relied on to squeeze and hold a lever at the moment they need it. It is the opposite of the right design for someone with good hands who wants to move quickly, because the rear tips drag and every step costs more effort. At 10.85 lbs. it is the lightest thing in Nova's range, which is a real consideration when a carer is doing the lifting. Two things to know: the 250 lbs. capacity is the lowest in the range alongside the Traveler, and if carpet is making it hard to push, Nova sell glide skis, part 40026GR, that fit over the tips and let it slide.

Straight talk

Is it right for you?

A good fit if you

  • are re-learning a walking pattern and need a frame that will not roll away
  • cannot reliably squeeze and hold a brake lever
  • want a walker that resists rolling when you lean on it
  • need the lightest frame Nova make, at 10.85 lbs.
  • want a seat and a pouch on a gait training walker

Look elsewhere if you

  • can use hand brakes and want the control they give, where a braked rollator is better
  • weigh more than 250 lbs., which is this frame's limit
  • walk outdoors on rough ground, because the rear tips will not clear it
  • want a walker that rolls freely and easily
