What stands out
There is one reason to buy this chair, which is the 400 lbs. rating, and everything else follows from it. The seat is 21.25" wide against 18.5" on the standard chairs and there is 22.5" between the arms, nearly three inches more room, and that is not a comfort upgrade so much as the difference between being able to sit down in it and not. Nova have done the rest properly: flip-up desk arms so transfers go sideways rather than over an armrest, hand brakes so the attendant controls a slope with a heavier load, twelve inch rear wheels, and anti-tippers fitted as standard on the chair that most needs them. It weighs 27.75 lbs., which is remarkably little for the rating. The two things to check before ordering are both physical. It is 28.25" wide, so measure your narrowest doorway, because that leaves under two inches of clearance in a standard door and none at all in an older one. And folded it is 31" deep and 37.5" high, which needs a large trunk.
