Nuprodx MC4000 Pediatric Series Mobile Shower Commode Chair
The MC4000 Pediatric is a mobile shower commode chair for children. You choose every part, and we check it against Sunrise's rules.
A shower commode chair sized for a growing child
A pediatric mobile shower commode chair with tilt, self-propelled and Advance bath chair seat models.
What stands out
Toilet and shower in one trip
The chair rolls over the toilet and into a roll-in shower, so the child transfers once, at the bed, instead of at every stop.
Eight seat depths
10.70" to 17.70", so the seat is set to the child's thigh length rather than to an adult average. Back cushions go down to 9" wide.
An Advance seat if the child needs one
The MC4000 Leckey fits the Nuprodx chair with the Advance bath chair seat in five sizes, with a mesh or commode seat and its own chest and hip belts. Leckey, a separate Sunrise Medical brand, makes the seat.
Tilt for pressure and access
The Tilt Pediatric uses a center-of-mass tilt with the adjustable padded headrest included, which shifts weight back for pressure relief and caregiver access.
Wheels the child can push
The MC4020 Pediatric has 20" rear wheels with handrims for a child ready to move around the bathroom on their own.
Grows with the child
Seat depth, back and cushion are set at order and can be changed as the child grows, without replacing the chair.
The Hieline Insight
A child who needs help in the bathroom is usually lifted three times: onto the toilet, into the shower and back out again. The pediatric MC4000 cuts that to one lift at the bed, because the chair rolls over the toilet and then into a roll-in shower with the child seated. What makes it a pediatric chair is the seating: eight seat depths from 10.70" to 17.70", backs down to 9" wide and its own cushion part numbers, all of which can change as the child grows. The Tilt Pediatric adds a center-of-mass tilt and a headrest for a child who needs pressure relief or easier hygiene access. The MC4020 Pediatric gives a child 20" wheels to push themselves. The MC4000 Leckey fits the chair with the Advance bath chair seat in five sizes, made by Leckey, a separate Sunrise Medical brand, for a child who needs full body support. Choose the MC6000 Pediatric instead if the bathroom has a tub the child has to get into.
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- A child who cannot transfer onto a toilet or into a shower without help.
- A caregiver doing daily bathing and toileting who wants to stop lifting.
- A child who needs postural support, where the MC4000 Leckey and the lateral and harness options apply.
- A child ready to self-propel around the bathroom, with the MC4020 Pediatric.
- A home with a roll-in shower that is staying as it is.
- A child who will grow, since seat depth, back and cushion all change.
Look elsewhere if you
- A child over 160 lbs. on the MC4000 Leckey, or over 300 lbs. on the other models.
- A bathroom with a tub and no roll-in shower. That is the MC6000 Pediatric Series.
- Outdoor use, which Nuprodx prohibits and which voids the warranty.
- More than one occupant at a time.
- An adult, who is served by the MC4000 Series instead.
- Anyone who needs a chair they can send back. This one is made to order and is not returnable.

Common questions
The MC4000 Pediatric is pushed by a caregiver on four casters. The Tilt Pediatric adds a center-of-mass tilt and a headrest. The MC4020 Pediatric has 20" wheels the child can push. The MC4000 Leckey replaces the Nuprodx seat and back with the Advance bath chair seat for a child who needs full body support.
It replaces the Nuprodx seat and back with the Advance bath chair seat in one of five sizes. Leckey, a separate Sunrise Medical brand, makes that seat; the chair frame and casters stay Nuprodx. The seat cushion, seat depth, back, backposts, footrests, armrests and headrest all come with the Advance seat, so those steps do not appear. The Advance seat head support and abduction belt are in Accessories.
Size 1 suits 30" to 41" tall, size 2 37" to 49", size 3 45" to 57", and sizes 4 and 5 53" to 65". Sizes 1 to 4 are a 16" seat width and size 5 is 19". The full size chart is in the order form on the Resources tab.
160 lbs., the rating in the MC4000 owner's manual.
The 16.90" and 17.70" settings need the seat depth adapters, which are in Accessories. The 16.20" and 17.70" settings do not work with a tall and narrow back or with laterals.
The HCPCS codes on this chair are E1399 and E0240. Whether a payer covers it is between you and that payer, and a code on a form does not by itself mean coverage or payment. Sunrise publishes these codes from PDAC verification or from their reading of Medicare definitions.
Every pediatric MC4000 is assembled to the child it was ordered for, so it cannot be resold. Nuprodx also excludes custom parts and custom cushions from returns outright. Check the measurements with the fitting guide before you order.
Nuprodx gives a two-year limited warranty on every part of the chair except the seat and back cushions, which carry one year. Normal wear and tear is excluded, and custom parts and custom cushions are excluded. The warranty period starts on the day you receive the chair, and you activate it by registering the chair with Nuprodx.

Every combination is checked against Sunrise Medical's own compatibility rules as you build. An option that does not fit your other choices is greyed out with the reason printed on it, and the build cannot be added to the cart while a conflict is open.
