NXT's Armadillo has a modular aluminum shell in three sections. Each section sets to its own angle, so the back wraps a kyphotic or uneven spine.

The Armadillo is for a spine that a one-piece shell cannot follow. The shell is three aluminum sections on a center spine. The top section tilts up to 40 degrees forward and 20 degrees back, and the lower section tilts 30 degrees each way, so the back can wrap around a kyphosis or be set to an uneven posture and then locked. A recessed channel down the middle takes pressure off the spinous processes, and the bottom plate adjusts to support the pelvis at the PSIS. This is a back that is fitted, and it works well when a therapist or an experienced fitter sets the angles with the user in the chair. Pick the width of your back canes first. The 14" and 16" widths are 16" tall, and the wider ones come 18" or 20" tall. It has its own lateral supports, which mount to the Armadillo shell only. NXT's order form says it does not come with the one-hand release and takes no fixed hardware swap.
