NXT lateral trunk supports mount on NXT back supports. Six models fit the Optima, Classic and Xtend backs and four are made for the Armadillo, with fixed or swing-away arms. Each is sold as one side.
NXT lateral supports bolt to the shell of an NXT back support and hold the trunk from the side. A swing-away arm pivots clear for a transfer.
What stands out
Start with the back you have, because the two families do not interchange: the six standard laterals fit the Optima, Optima Carbon, Classic, Xtend and Xtend LOW, and the Armadillo laterals fit the Armadillo only. Then decide whether the support has to move. A fixed arm suits someone who needs the support in place all the time. A swing-away arm releases with a button and pivots clear, which matters if you transfer sideways or want a break from the support during the day. The extendable swing-away arm also adjusts in length, so the pad can be set for contact at the side or toward the front of the trunk. Pick the pad by how much contact you need: the small pad is about 3.5" deep and 3.25" high, the large about 4" by 3.5", and the dual small pads let you set the angle between them. Each lateral is one side, so most users order two. Installation takes a 4 mm Allen key and a torque wrench, and NXT sets every screw at 7 Nm.
