The Xtend LOW is the Xtend for a shorter trunk. Its two-piece aluminum shell works the same way: the lower piece stays put and supports the pelvis, and the upper piece slides anywhere from 13" to 17", with the user in the chair. That range sits 3" lower than the standard Xtend, which suits shorter users and users who want trunk support that stays below the shoulder blades and leaves the arms free to push. It also comes narrower, down to 12" wide. The standard contour is a mild 3.5". The DEEP version wraps further around the trunk and its laterals set from 5.5" to 7". Pick the width of your back canes, then choose the contour. The 12" back does not have the one-hand release, and the weight limit rises from 300 lbs. to 400 lbs. at 22" wide.
