Compact Master II rollator introduction
Built for real life
What stands out
●
Folds in from the sides
Turn the unlock lever under the seat, push the seat bars together and the frame closes until the folding lock clicks. Lower the handles and turn the front wheels back, and the rollator is 10" wide, 14" deep and 26" tall. You carry it by the folding lock.
●
Arrives assembled
The rollator comes out of the box in one piece. Stand it on its four wheels, release the folding lock on the seat and pull the hand grips up and apart until both sides show the lock line. The backrest pushes into its two mounts and the storage bag clips on.
●
Handles set by number
Loosen the two tightening knobs, hold the button and slide each handle up or down, then tighten the knobs again. Numbered markers on both handles let you set them to the same height. Rolloy says to set them level with your wrists.
●
Brakes that park
Pull both levers up to slow down or stop. Push both levers down until they click and the rear wheels stay locked, which is how the manual says to leave them before you sit.
●
Curb climber
A foot step sits inside the rear wheel. Hold both hand grips, press the step down with your foot and the front wheels lift onto a curb or a small step.
●
Seat, backrest and storage bag
The nylon seat is 18" wide on the Standard frame and 19" wide on the Wide frame, at a height of 21". The bag under it carries up to 22 lbs. The manual says to hang nothing on the backrest.
The Hieline Take
The Compact Master II is built around its fold. A conventional rollator folds front to back and stays as wide as it was open. This one closes in from the sides, the handles drop and the front wheels tuck back, which leaves a package 10" wide, 14" deep and 26" tall that goes in a car trunk or under a table. You pay for that in the seat. It is a nylon sling 10" deep at a fixed height of 21", fine for catching your breath and less suited to a long sit, and a shorter user may find 21" high. The handles do adjust, from 31" to 39" on the Standard frame and from 32" to 40" on the Wide frame, so the walking fit is easy to set. Choose the frame by weight and hip room first. The Standard frame carries 300 lbs. on an 18" seat and is 24" across. The Wide frame carries 400 lbs. on a 19" seat and is 26" across, and those 2" matter at a narrow bathroom door. Rolloy's photos show the rollator on grass and gravel, while its manual says to keep to even and solid surfaces, and we would go by the manual. If you want a rollator that lives in the car and comes out for errands, appointments and trips, that is the job this one was designed for.

How do I choose between the Standard and the Wide frame?
Start with weight. The Standard frame carries 300 lbs. and the Wide frame carries 400 lbs. The Standard seat is 18" wide and the Wide seat is 19" wide, and Rolloy suggests a seat an inch or two wider than your hips when you are sitting. The Standard handles adjust from 31" to 39" and the Wide handles from 32" to 40", and Rolloy says to set them at wrist height. The Standard frame comes in five colors and the Wide frame in Red and Black.
Will it fit through my doorways?
The Standard frame is 24" wide and the Wide frame is 26" wide. Measure your narrowest doorway, which is often the bathroom. Rolloy asks for a doorway of 25" or more for the Standard frame. For the Wide frame its page says 27" in one place and 28" in another, so plan on 28".
How small does it fold?
Rolloy's manual gives the folded size as 10" wide, 14" deep and 26" tall for both frames, with the handles at their lowest setting and the front wheels turned back. Some of Rolloy's photos call it a 24" suitcase size. This page follows the manual.
How heavy is it?
Rolloy's dimension drawings give 16.5 lbs. for the Standard frame and 17.5 lbs. for the Wide frame. Its product page says 16 lbs. and its comparison page says 17 lbs. Plan on the drawing's figure for the frame you order.
Can I take it on a plane?
Rolloy shows it as an item for air travel and adds a note to check your airline's carry-on size policy before you fly. Airlines set their own limits, so compare the folded size, 10" x 14" x 26", with your airline's rule.
Is the seat height adjustable?
No. The seat is 21" from the floor on both frames. The handle height is what adjusts.
Can someone push me while I am sitting on it?
No. The manual says not to move the rollator while seated and not to use it as a wheelchair or a transport chair. Lock both brakes before you sit, and sit only on flat ground.
Can I use it on grass or gravel?
Rolloy's photos show it on lawn and gravel. Its manual says to use it only on even and solid surfaces. Where the two differ, go by the manual.
Why do Blue and Purple cost more?
Rolloy prices the Blue and the Purple frame $10.00 above the other colors. The rollator is the same.
What is the warranty?
Rolloy warrants the frame material and workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase, to the original purchaser. Rolloy corrects a covered defect at no charge, and the purchaser prepays the shipping. The warranty does not transfer and does not cover misuse, modifications or shipping damage after the first delivery.
Does it carry a California Proposition 65 warning?
Yes. Rolloy's manual prints this notice: "WARNINGS: Cancer and Reproductive Harm - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov".
Where do the specifications come from?
They come from Rolloy's user manual for the Compact Master II and from the dimension drawing Rolloy publishes for each frame. Where Rolloy's pages differ from those two, this page follows them and the answers above name the other figure.
The Standard frame carries 300 lbs. on an 18" seat and is 24" wide. The Wide frame carries 400 lbs. on a 19" seat and is 26" wide, and it comes in Red and Black.
