The Hieline Take
This is Spinergy's plain aluminum handrim, and in the 20" to 26" sizes no handrim on Spinergy's list costs less. The brushed finish is the reason to pick it over a black or polished rim. Spinergy says it is not slippery out of the box, and a scratch blends into brushed silver where it stands out on a dark rim. It is a round 3/4" tube with no coating and no shaping, so it does nothing extra for a weak grip or sore wrists, and an oval or coated handrim serves those hands better. Check two things before you order, because handrims cannot be returned. The size has to match your wheels, and the rim has to take a six-tab handrim. The 700c size fits Spinergy's SPOX Sport SL and XSL wheels and does not fit the SLX or XSLX, which take 12 tabs in 700c. Spinergy does not list mounting screws with the handrims, so plan to reuse the ones on your wheels.

Is the price for one handrim or for a pair?
For a pair. One unit in the cart is two handrims.
What comes in the box?
Two handrims with their mounting tabs. Wheels, tires and tubes are not included.
Which size do I need?
The size of your wheels. Read the number on the tire sidewall: 451 is a 20" wheel, 501 is 22", 540 is 24", 559 is 25", 590 is 26" and 622 is 700c.
Will they fit my wheels?
Spinergy makes them for its own wheelchair wheels, with six mounting tabs on every size. Spinergy gives no fit list for other makes of wheel in the 20" to 26" sizes, so on another make count the handrim mounting holes on your rim before you order.
Which wheels does the 700c size fit?
Spinergy's SPOX Sport SL and SPOX Sport XSL wheels, and Spinergy says other brands of rim with six handrim mounting holes. It does not fit the Spinergy SLX or XSLX in 700c, because those rims take a 12-tab handrim.
Do they come with mounting screws?
Spinergy lists each handrim with its mounting tabs and does not list screws. Plan to reuse the screws that hold the handrims on your wheels now.
Do the tires have to come off to fit them?
On a rim without rivnuts, yes, because the screws go in from under the tire. Spinergy says a rim with its rivnut system takes a handrim without taking the tire off. Rivnuts are a factory option on a new pair of Spinergy wheels.
Why a brushed finish?
Spinergy gives two reasons. The brushed surface is not slippery out of the box, and scratches do not stand out on the brushed silver color.
What is the warranty?
Spinergy warrants its wheelchair wheel products for 1 year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, for the original owner. Keep your receipt. Normal wear, crash damage and damage from sports such as basketball, quad rugby and tennis are not covered.

No. Handrims cannot be returned, so check the size before you order. If they arrive damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery.
