The Blade LXL is the LXL with flat, bladed PBO fiber spokes, 568 g per wheel. It is sold as a pair in five sizes, with 1/2" or 12mm bearings, in nine spoke colors.

The Hieline Take
The Blade LXL is the LXL with flat spokes in place of round ones. Spinergy gives it as 568 g per wheel, 18 g under the LXL, so the reason to choose it is the look of the bladed spokes more than the weight. It shares the LXL's narrower rim and small black hub, and it adds a choice the LXL does not have: 12mm bearings in 22" to 26". The hub is the part to check before you order. It is the LXL hub, a different part from the standard and X2 hubs on the LX, and Spinergy's chart lists it for fewer makes of chair. If yours is not on that list, measure the hub you have now and ask us first, because wheels cannot be returned. The wheels arrive bare, so handrims, tires, tubes and axles are separate.

Wheels cannot be returned. Check the size, the hub and the spoke color on this page before you order. If they arrive damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will get them repaired or replaced at no cost to you.

Is the price for one wheel or for a pair?
For a pair. One unit in the cart is two wheels.
What comes in the box?
Two wheels with their hubs and bearings. Handrims, tires, tubes and axles are not included.
Which wheelchairs does the LXL hub fit?
Spinergy's hub chart lists the LXL hub for chairs from TiLite, Draft, Miki and RGK, with 51mm between the outside of the two bearings. It lists a 53mm version for Panthera and Progeo. The price list gives one part number for each size and color and does not say which spacing it is, so measure the hub on the wheel you have now and ask us before you order if it is not 51mm.
Which size do I need?
The size on your chair now. Read the number on the tire sidewall: 451 is a 20" wheel, 501 is a 22" wheel, 540 is a 24" wheel, 559 is a 25" wheel and 590 is a 26" wheel.
Which axle length do I need?
Axles are not included, and you can add a pair under "Add axles" on this page. The length depends on your chair. Spinergy's axle chart gives these lengths for the LXL, which has the same hub as this wheel. 4.00": Aria, Colours, GTM, Hands On Concepts, Ki Mobility, Kuschall, Lasher, Melrose, Panthera, Reckless, TiLite, Vesco, newer P4X chairs and the RGK Octane Sub 4 and Tiga. 4.25": Kinesis, Levo, Lifestand, Miki, Mogo, Motion Composites, Quickie, Roma and older P4X chairs. 4.50": Box, Brand New Wheelchair, Invacare and Top End. 4.75": the other RGK chairs. A Ki chair with height adjustable armrests takes 0.25" more, except the Ethos, which takes 3.75". A Quickie more than 10 years old takes 0.25" less. If your chair is not on the chart, the length depends on two things: the length of the axle receiver in your camber tube, and the distance from the outside of one hub bearing to the outside of the other. Measure both and you have the axle length.
Which tires fit?
A wheelchair tire in the matching size. Read the size on the sidewall of the tire you have now and order the same one.
Why fiber spokes and not steel?
Spinergy rates its PBO fiber at three times the strength of steel and half the weight, and the fiber absorbs 25% more shock and vibration than a steel spoke.
How is the Blade LXL different from the LXL?
The spokes. The Blade LXL has flat spokes and the LXL has round 3mm ones. The rim and the hub are the same, and the Blade LXL also comes with 12mm bearings.
What maintenance do the wheels need?
Keep them clean. Now and then take the wheels off the chair, pull the axle and wipe the bearings, the hub and the axle with a dry rag. The bearings are sealed and need no grease. Check that the spokes are tight, the rim is undamaged and the tires hold their pressure.
What is the warranty?
Spinergy warrants the wheels for 1 year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, for the original owner. Keep your receipt. Bearing wear, crash damage and sports such as basketball, quad rugby and tennis are not covered.

No. Wheels cannot be returned, so check the size, the hub and the spoke color before you order. If they arrive damaged or defective, tell us within 48 hours of delivery.
