Click to zoomSpinergy Extra Lite Extreme LXL Rear Wheels
The Spinergy LXL is a light everyday wheelchair wheel with 18 PBO fiber spokes and a narrower rim. It is sold as a pair of bare wheels in 20", 22", 24", 25" and 26", with a choice of spoke color.
The LXL is Spinergy's light everyday wheel, 586 g per wheel, with a rim 2mm narrower than its other rims and 18 thin PBO fiber spokes. It is sold as a pair in five sizes and nine spoke colors.
What stands out
The LXL is the wheel to look at when weight is the point. Spinergy gives it as 586 g per wheel, about 100 g under the LX, and it gets there with a rim 2mm narrower than the other Spinergy rims, a small machined hub and 18 thin 3mm spokes. The hub is the part to check before you order. It is the LXL hub, a different part from the standard and X2 hubs on the LX, and Spinergy's chart lists it for fewer makes of chair. The list also offers one hub and 1/2" bearings only, with a black hub on every color. If your chair is not on that list, measure the hub you have now and ask us first, because wheels cannot be returned. The wheels arrive bare, so handrims, tires, tubes and axles are separate.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- want a lighter wheel than the LX
- have a chair on Spinergy's LXL hub list
- want colored spokes with a black hub
Look elsewhere if you
- need an X2 hub or 12mm bearings
- have not measured the hub on your chair
- want wheels that arrive with handrims and tires fitted
