Every Spinergy sport hub measures 2.3" from the outside of one bearing to the outside of the other. What differs is the axle. This wheel takes the axle size shown on this page, and Spinergy's list of sport chair makes for that axle is in the specifications. Measure the axle on your chair before you order, because wheels cannot be returned.

The size on your chair now. Read the number on the tire sidewall: 540 is a 24" wheel, 559 is a 25" wheel and 590 is a 26" wheel.

Axles are not included, and you can add a pair under "Add axles" on this page. The length depends on your chair. Spinergy's axle chart gives these lengths for the SLX. 4.25": Aria, Colours, GTM, Hands On Concepts, Ki Mobility, Kuschall, Melrose, Panthera, Reckless, TiLite, Vesco, P4X and the RGK Octane Sub 4 and Tiga. 4.50": Levo, Lifestand, Miki, Mogo, Motion Composites, Quickie and Roma. 4.75": Box, Brand New Wheelchair, Invacare, Top End and Lasher. 5.00": Kinesis. For the other RGK chairs the chart gives 4.75" or 5.12", so ask us before you order. Spinergy's price list has no 1/2" axle in 5.00", so that length is not offered on this page. A Ki chair with height adjustable armrests takes 0.25" more, except the Ethos, which takes 3.75". A Quickie more than 10 years old takes 0.25" less. If your chair is not on the chart, the length depends on two things: the length of the axle receiver in your camber tube, and the distance from the outside of one hub bearing to the outside of the other. Measure both and you have the axle length.

Spinergy's written warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year. It names basketball, quad rugby, tennis and similar sports as misuse and does not cover damage from them, and it makes no exception for a sport wheel. Crash and impact damage is not covered on any wheel.

Spinergy rates its PBO fiber at three times the strength of steel and half the weight, and the fiber absorbs 25% more shock and vibration than a steel spoke.

The SLX 18 has 18 spokes and the SLX 24 has 24. Both use 4mm spokes and the sport hub. The SLX 24 also comes in 700c and with 12mm bearings.

Keep them clean. Now and then take the wheels off the chair, pull the axle and wipe the bearings, the hub and the axle with a dry rag. The bearings are sealed and need no grease. Check that the spokes are tight, the rim is undamaged and the tires hold their pressure.

Spinergy warrants the wheels for 1 year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, for the original owner. Keep your receipt. Bearing wear, crash damage and damage from sports are not covered.
