Which length do I need?
Plan on about 1' of ramp for every 1" of rise, which is the ADA's 1:12 slope. EZ-ACCESS notes that a steeper slope can work at home when a helper pushes or the ramp is used unoccupied, and your chair or scooter manual gives the steepest slope it is rated for. Never go steeper than that. EZ-ACCESS rates both the 2' and 3' for curbs and a single step.
How is it held in place?
The fixed top plate has holes for the clevis pins or screws that come with the ramp, so it can be secured to the surface it rests on.
Can two ramps be joined for more length?
No. EZ-ACCESS does not make SUITCASE ramps to connect together.
What is the difference between this and the Singlefold AS?
This ramp has its tread extruded into the aluminum and stays in one piece. The AS has a black applied grit surface and splits into two halves by removing the hinge pins.
Does it work with the Top Lip Extension?
Yes. The SUITCASE Top Lip Extension fits every aluminum SUITCASE ramp and lowers the ramp's capacity to 500 lbs. while it is fitted.
