The Hieline Take
The gel mattress is the one Flexabed makes for people who sleep warm. It has 3" of gel-infused memory foam, and Flexabed states that the gel draws heat away from the body and gives a cooler sleeping surface. It is also the only mattress in the range without a quilted top. The cover is a smooth knit with a zipper, which Flexabed says keeps you as close to the gel as possible. It costs the same as the Visco memory foam core mattress, and the choice between the two is that top, which is smooth here and quilted there. It sits a little higher than the quilted mattresses. On a Hi-Low SL fully lowered on leg pads, Flexabed puts the top of the gel mattress 21" from the floor, against 20-5/8" for a quilted top mattress. Flexabed publishes no density or firmness figure for the gel foam, so this page gives none. Flexabed makes this mattress for the Premier and the Hi-Low SL and does not offer it on the Value-Flex. It is made to order and cannot be returned, so settle the size and the length before you buy.

This mattress cannot be returned. Flexabed makes each one to order in the size and the length you choose, so once it is made we cannot put it back into stock. Note any damage on the carrier's delivery receipt before you sign it. If the mattress arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, tell us within 48 hours and we will put it right at no cost to you, and the manufacturer warranty still applies.

How is it different from the Visco memory foam core mattress?
Both cost the same. The gel mattress has a smooth zippered top over 3" of gel-infused memory foam. The Visco mattress has a quilted cushion top over 2" of Visco memory foam.
Does it sleep cooler?
Flexabed states that the gel-infused foam draws heat away from the body and removes hot spots on the surface, and that the smooth top keeps you as close to the gel as possible. Flexabed publishes no temperature figure.
Why does it have no quilted top?
Flexabed gives its gel mattresses a smooth zippered cover so that nothing sits between the sleeper and the gel foam. Every other Flexabed mattress has a quilted top.
Which size do I need?
Match the mattress to the bed. Twin is 38" wide, Full 53", Queen 60", King 76" and a Split Queen side 30". Twin, Full and Split Queen side mattresses come 74", 80" or 84" long, and Queen and King mattresses come 80" or 84" long. The 74" and 80" lengths cost the same, and the 84" length costs more.
Will it fit my bed?
Flexabed makes this mattress for its Flexabed Premier and Hi-Low SL adjustable beds. Match the width and the length of your bed. The non-skid underside grips the padded foundation, and the retainer bar at the foot of the bed holds the mattress in place when the bed bends.
What do I need for a split king or a split queen?
Two mattresses, one for each bed. For a split king set the quantity to 2 and choose Twin. For a split queen set the quantity to 2 and choose Split Queen side, which is 30" wide.
How high will the bed be?
It depends on the bed. On a Hi-Low SL fully lowered, Flexabed puts the top of the gel mattress 21" from the floor on leg pads and 23-1/4" on casters. A quilted top mattress on the same bed measures 20-5/8" and 22-7/8".
