What stands out

●
The whole bed raises and lowers
A third motor lifts the whole sleep surface 7-1/2" from the remote, so the bed sits low for getting in and comes up to a working height for a caregiver.
●
Head and foot adjust on their own
The head section lifts to 73 degrees and the foot section to 40 degrees, each from its own buttons.
●
Built to order in Georgia
Flexabed builds each bed by hand in LaFayette, Georgia, in the size, the length and the mattress you choose.
●
Wireless or wired remote
The wireless remote stores four positions and has a flat button and a flashlight. The wired remote runs the head, the foot and the bed height, and has the flashlight.
●
Ready for side rails
Mounting plates at the head and the foot are fitted at the factory, and the bed takes up to four side rails.
●
Two beds make a king
Two Twin beds side by side make a king, and each side adjusts on its own.
●
Lowers flat in a power cut
Two 9V batteries in the power supply, which are not included, lower the bed to flat if the power fails.
●
Runs from a phone
With the wireless remote the bed can also be run from the Okin SmartBed app on an iPhone or an Android phone over Bluetooth, and the app can set a wake-up alarm.
The Hieline Take

The Hi-Low SL is an adjustable bed with a third motor. As well as lifting the head to 73 degrees and the foot to 40 degrees, it raises the whole sleep surface 7-1/2", so the bed can sit low for getting in and out and come up to a working height for a caregiver. With the low profile mattress on leg pads the top of the mattress is 16-1/2" from the floor at its lowest, and with a quilted top mattress on casters it is 22-7/8". Three things are worth knowing before you order. The bed moves 7-1/2" toward the foot end as it rises, so leave that much room at the foot. A headboard cannot be attached to the frame, and a footboard cannot be used with it. Voice control, massage and the underbed lights work only with the wireless remote, so choose that remote if you want any of them. Flexabed states that an adjustable bed should not be considered an alternative to a hospital bed, and that a physician should be consulted where health issues are involved. Each bed is built to order in LaFayette, Georgia, and it cannot be returned, so settle the size, the length and the mattress before you buy.

Straight talk

Is it right for you?

A good fit if you

  • need the bed low to get in and higher to stand up from
  • have a caregiver who needs the bed at a working height
  • want a home mattress in Twin, Full or Queen on a bed that changes height
  • want to sleep beside a partner, on a second Twin or on one Full or Queen

Look elsewhere if you

  • weigh more than 400 lbs.
  • want to attach a headboard or use a footboard
  • have been told by a physician that you need a hospital bed
  • may want to send it back, because a bed built to order cannot be returned
