Flexabed's innerspring mattress for an adjustable bed. A 336 coil Bonnell spring unit between two foam pads, 8-3/4" thick, made to order in soft, medium or firm.
The innerspring is the mattress Flexabed makes for all three of its adjustable beds. A 336 coil Bonnell spring unit sits between two foam pads under a quilted top, and you choose soft, medium or firm.
What stands out
The innerspring is the standard Flexabed mattress, and it is the only one made for all three beds, the Value-Flex included. Inside is a 336 coil Bonnell spring unit, 6-1/4" tall, with a 1-1/4" polyurethane foam pad above it and another below, and every layer is fastened to the springs so nothing shifts when the bed bends. The firmness comes from those foam pads. Flexabed rates the soft pad at 13 to 19 ILD, the medium at 32 to 37 and the firm at 50 to 60. ILD is the weight it takes to press the foam down by a quarter of its height, so a higher figure is a firmer pad, and soft and firm sit well apart. The mattress is 8-3/4" thick at the tape edge, and its underside is a non-skid material that keeps it in place on the foundation. It costs the same as the low profile mattress and less than the memory foam, gel and latex mattresses, so the choice between them is about feel and height. If two people share a Full, a Queen or a King they share one firmness, and two Twin mattresses side by side let each person choose their own. Flexabed makes each mattress to order and it cannot be returned, so settle the size, the length and the firmness before you buy.
Straight talk
Is it right for you?
A good fit if you
- own a Flexabed Premier, Hi-Low SL or Value-Flex and need a mattress for it
- want springs under a quilted top
- want to choose between soft, medium and firm
- want the lowest priced Flexabed mattress of full height
Look elsewhere if you
- want the bed to sit lower, which the low profile mattress does
- want memory foam, gel foam or latex under you
- are buying the bed as well, because the bed page prices the two together for less
- may want to send it back, because a mattress made to order cannot be returned
